Default Thoughts from a forum-oholic and an anouncement!

I have been on the C7 section of the forum almost daily since July of 2013. I have learned so much. Also I have been entertained, occasionally have laughed and very rarely have been disgusted. I want to extend a big thank you to all you forum members for your help and positive participation! The bad news is that my fiancé thinks I have lost my mind. If I have, I know that I am in good company!

Now for the announcement. Finally, everything has lined up just right (including the right color for me - LBR). The other day I placed my order so the long wait is over and now the excitement is building!

I need some help on the interior selection. I originally ordered 2LT with Kalahari and dual roof with PDR/NAV. My fiancé convinced me to change my order and go with gray. I am thinking of changing the order again and eliminating the dual roof, spending an extra $1500 and getting 3LT so I can get Brownstone. What are your thoughts?

BTW, I am still at 1100 so no problem changing the order at this time.

Once again, thank you!

Mike

I would kill the dual roof and take brownstone. You can pick up a transparent roof whenever you want, I see them all the time in the for sale section here, or from one of the forum vendors. I was really close to getting Brownstone myself, I'm getting LBR too but I went with black. Gray is kinda boring in my opinion. Congrats!

Man, go with the Brownstone, it is a killer interior and I believe that it would look outstanding with the LBR. I would doubt that you would use both roofs enough to justify the cost. I have had the dual roof option in the past and ended up selling the transparent roof with in 6 months of ownership.
The transparent roof is nice but the Brownstone is way better in the wow factor.
Good luck with your choice. By the way grey is nice, but don't spill a cherry slush on the carpet...My wife did that in my '01...ack!

Brownstone is, no doubt, the classiest looking interior - but I may be biased.

You can easily pick up a slightly used or new transparent roof down the line if you absolutely need one. The dual roof option is basically an order of convenience anyway since it's usually priced $500 above what the GM part cost is if you purchase the transparent top new from the parts dept. That cost will continue to decrease as their stock goes up and will further go down due to resale discounts.

LBR is also at the top of my list (along with Torch Red) however I'm leaning towards the Jet Black interior with red stitching (3LT or 3LZ). I do like the added suede pieces with the Brownstone. Both are better options than Kalahari with LBR IMO. Kalahari is nice, but I like it better with other colors like Shark Gray and Black.

For some folks, the 2LT is close enough to the 3LT. But not for me. No matter what color you choose, go 3LT. It's so much nicer. I do agree about the Brownstone over the grey.

You're going to get conflicting advice here on your questions. Personally I put the grey interior in mine because of two reasons. First I think it looks best, and second because I didn't want a dark interior in leather that would get hot in the sun. For me the LBR would look best in grey, followed closely be Kalahari. I get how lots of people will disagree with me. Good luck and congrats on a beautiful car.

Make sure you see the brownstone before you order it. IMHO, it's a love or hate color.

Just my $.02

Kalahari is a very nice compliment to the color choice. Try looking at the car with the different interiors and see which one you like best.

In all honesty, the brownstone does nothing for me. I go for gray with two-tone micro-suede seats (black suede inserts, gray leather edges). Then order black floormats to protect the light gray carpet.

Dump the roof, I had both roofs on my c5 for 15 years and never put the body color one on. On my c7 didn't have to think about it, I bought a convertible. ( doing buyers tour on Friday)

Which roof automatically comes with the car? The body colored roof or the transparent roof? According to the 3LZ Z06 I built on the GM site, the body colored roof is standard.

I went with the LBR and brownstone. It's still making its way to me. I noticed that the zo6 allows you to get a 2LZ in brownstone. Had I been able to get a 2LT in this interior color I would have been loading up on more options. I should have it by this time next week. Good luck with yours.

The body colored roof. My only hang up with Brownstone is the suede inserts, I'm just not a fan. I really like that color though, especially with LBR.

Good luck Manic Mike.

I wished I did something different every week since the car was broadcast for production. I ordered white, but sometimes wish I had gone red or yellow. I eventually added PDR, then the carbon dash, and removed the competition seats after reading a lot of somewhat negative reviews. I get what I get at this point... wish I hadn't gone to a damn vette show AFTER ordering.

I ordered a black interior. At the car show I assumed, since its a show, they were all 3LT. I was surprised when I started to notice the microfiber head liner and pillars in 1 out 2 cars. In black, with casual looks, I was never able to tell the difference between 3LT and 2LT. I'll go so far as to say that I think the red 2LT looks nicer! Just the right amount of red IMHO.

And to think I considered 3LT with a design package at one time. In the end, I have a loaded 2LT for 70 grand (paid invoice through Denny Menholt)

Not 80 grand, just 70.

Pick a roof (single) and go with the Brownstone. You won't be disappointed.

Congratulations on your new ride! Come back to this thread and tell us about the buyer's tour. I may do that too!

BTW, I had the dual roof on my '07 and, like you, once I put on the transparent I never went back to the body color. I like the looks of the body color roof better, but, IMHO riding in the car with the transparent roof is so much better.

Congratulations on your new ride!

Thanks for the link. It shows Brownstone without the sueded inserts which is the way I think I will go.

Come back to this thread after you take delivery with some pictures!

Thanks for your input on the color with LBR.

There are actually two choices (at least in 2016) for Brownstone:
555 - Brownstone, Perforated Napa leather seating surfaces
556 - Brownstone, Leather seating surfaces with sueded microfiber inserts

Default 2LT with Grey Interior

I sat in a brownstone interior car.
I liked my black interior better.
The other guy liked mine better, also.

I think the grey would be the best interior color.
