Default Few Questions Guys.....

Hello,

Just purchased my 2015 Coupe Z51 Auto-8 a few weeks ago. I couldn't be more happy with the car until I started getting the pop. I have had other Vetts in the past with no issues. I have tried the "O rings" with no luck. I went without any noise for about 2 weeks then back again. I even added a second set of "O rings" and it didn't help. My question is. I'm going to contact my dealer and ask to have the car fixed. Is there any specific info I need to provide them other than just printing off the bulletin above? If my dealership hasn't done this repare before should it be an easy one? Just don't want them messing my top/car up. I'm pretty **** when it comes to my car as im sure most on here are. Also how long should the fix take? And should I expect to pay for the fix since so many are having the issue? and if so how much am I looking to spend. Thank you for your time.

I guess it this just a characteristic of a non fixed roof, I just wonder do all cars with out a fixed roof have these rattles???

Very Frustrating
I had a little squeaking sound. Removed the roof, put in graphite (oil) around the pin and hole, applied a bit to the rubber gasket at catch points. No squeak low or high speed. I did not get GM fix.

You'll love your 2015 C7 again after you get the fix. Like you mine squeaked like crazy when the roof got hot. Brought it back to the dealership twice with no luck before there was a factory fix. Tried the "O" rings and lubricants to no avail. As you can see from the bulletin, all the changes are to the roof panel itself, so I wouldn't be concerned about any collateral damage the dealer might cause. I have no squeaking after the fix. What I do hear on occasion is after the roof panel has been out in the sun and I move the car once it cools down, I do hear the roof panel reseating itself. When I do hear it, it happens only once or twice per trip, and is hardly anything objectionable, and you can instead enjoy the sound of the exhaust note once again.

Saying the roof panel is reseating is a nice way of saying the top still creaks. The creaking top is one reason why I own a new Porsche after owning Corvettes since 1975.

UPDATE:

Just dropped the car off for service this morning at 7:30. Service tech said they had the parts for the roof fix in stock so apparently I'm not the first. Makes me feel a little bit better that the tech working on my car has done this fix before. We will see how it turns out.

Thanks so much for posting this. My dealer aims to please, but isn't always up to date with the latest Corvette "fixes." Being able to print this out really helps. Dropped my car off today for an unrelated minor issue, and told them I would like this done as well. No problem!

Picked my car up yesterday at 3:00 and its silent as can be. I haven't taken the top off yet or to check the new pins out, but I've done a lot of driving since yesterday and not a single sound.....just my exhaust!

I dropped my car off late Thursday (for an unrelated issue) and picked it up yesterday. One day turnaround. Either they had the parts in stock or ordered them Thursday and got them Friday (I expected to have to bring the car back). Anyway, I've had the top on and off a lot, and only heard noise under the worst of road conditions. This fix took care of that.

Had mine done in June (couple hours at the dealer), and the GM fix surpassed my wildest dreams.
I expected a reduction in the 'creaks & pops'....but the fix completely eliminated all noise, squeaks, etc. Couldn't believe the difference.

Highly recommend this for those cars produced prior to the factory update/fix.

I highly recommend folks living in Las Vegas use Findlay Chevrolet for all your maintenance needs. Talk to Slim. He is the Corvette specialist in the service department. He had me in and out in less than 2 hours. The fix is great. Had the work done on the 5th of July. Drove from Las Vegas to Monterey car was perfectly quite. A real success story.
Thank You GM and Thank you Findlay Chevrolet/ Slim in the service department.

Your car has the revised hardware. It was incorporated into the factory builds late in the 2015 model year.

No, all 16s have the revised hardware. The change was incorporated late in the 15 model year.

I brought the car into Circle Chevrolet in Jersey and they replaced all latch assembly parts, which took about 2 months to come in because they were on back order. But Success hallelujah, the noise is gone at least for the moment. Let's hope it's permanent

I have a 2016 Z06 and I have noticed if I drive somewhere and the car sits in the sun (90+) for a hour or so when I get back in the roof creeks a whole lot for about 10 minutes and then goes away. Will the Service Bulletin for this take care f this issue?
thanks
