Since it's warrantied, why not have the dealership order the parts and do the fix?
Worked perfectly for me.

I had the dealer order the parts and install the new pins at no charge. GM is paying for this fix.

Just got mine out of storage a couple of weeks ago, and the noise is VERY noticeable. I know the discussions say this happens in warmer temperatures, but it seems to me to be even louder when it is cool (close to freezing).

Inquired with my dealer about the service bulletin tonight.

Get used to the creaking top. It never goes away. It will drive you crazy and GM doesn't care to fix the problem which has been around for 10 years.

Default Need the Parts

I have my 2014 Stingray in Australia and cannot get the warranty done here.
Can someone help me with a dealer that can sell me the parts and post them to me here?

Why don't you email or PM one of the Forum Parts Vendors (Cultrag and others) and order the parts from one of them. They are listed on the right side of the Forum page.

Is there no Chevrolet dealer in Brisbane? Porsche has a great dealership in Brisbane. Porsche Centre Brisbane. When the creaking doesn't stop, trade cars like I did. You are either a world class car with service or you aren't.

I have had my car out of storage for a month now, did a decently long drive yesterday, lots of bumps with the top on and so far so good regarding the warranty work on the roof, seems to have worked. Hopefully it stays quiet. I was the one that had used the tire inner tube as a fix in the past seen on this thread, don't want to have to go back to that. So glad that GM may have figured this problem out with the new pins etc..

Good luck! After the GM fix by the dealer, mine still creaks but at a higher pitch. Way better than before the fix.

We haven't hit the hot weather yet here, still in the mid 50's. sure you are having some of that in Florida so that may be the test on whether it works or not. We will see when we get up into the 70's and 80's and the roof expands a bit. Cross my fingers , then again most days like that I have the roof off.

Got tired of waiting for my dealer to get back to me with a date. Looked at the pegs and there is a visible wear spot on each.

Put two wraps of black electricians tape (3/4" PVC tape) around each peg. Each piece about 1.5" long.

$1.50 for a roll of tape at Home Depot.

Two weeks now with temperatures from 25C (77F) and 0C (32F) and no noise.

I still want the right pegs but the noise is no longer driving me, or my passengers, crazy.

I had it fixed based upon the bulletin under warranty and the right latch is fine but the left side still creaks and I find that if I open the latch the noise stops. I guess I need to bring it back to the dealer what a pain.

This has been a pain for 10 years and GM hasn't fixed it yet. GM and for sure your dealer doesn't care. Ask Tadge. LOL

Very disappointing, in speaking with GM today, they didn't have a resolution of the rattles, they recommended that I take it back to the dealer with the hope they could make another adjustment and were very sorry about the continuing issues and inconvenience.

I guess it this just a characteristic of a non fixed roof, I just wonder do all cars with out a fixed roof have these rattles???

Very Frustrating
