OK, I may be misunderstanding the workings of V4 mode with the automatics. I know with my M7, it never does V4 mode unless the driving mode is set to ECO. I thought the Autos did V4 even when in Touring - but not having one myself, I yield your experience.

If you drive in M and use the paddles, it won't ever go into V4, no matter what mode you are in.

Without using the paddles (M mode), you will go into V4 mode even in Touring. Who cares though, it's seamless and I wouldn't ever know it was doing it unless I had the dash telling me.

I just completed my first long road trip with my 2014 ZF1 A6 (2000 miles) and my car ran for "hundreds of miles" in the V4 mode returning 32+ MPG and I didn't feel any abnormal behavior etc.

Folks make way too much of that feature.

on my trip to OC last week I averaged almost 35 mpg and my best 50 mile avg was 39.5 mpg. I drove in Sport mode with exhaust sound in Tour. Unless I watch the DIC don't know when it goes in and out of V4 mode.

I agree with ratman6161. Those that hate their cars, get rid of them and move on to something else. I have done so many times. So far, my C7 has been flawless. If it has major problems, I will sell or trade it.
this is not a media report ...it is vette owners with bad experiences ..

You may not read them or feel they are legit ...but ... millions of folks do ...and that will make your investment drop in value ...not just this year but down the road ..when a buyer looks it up and sees a big black eye next to the reliabilty of the 2016 Vette ...

Took delivery 11 Oct 2013. 13,000 miles as of today. Infotainment software upgrade.
New front rotors 4,000 miles ago. No other issues. One fine C7. This coming from an owner of 10 previous Corvettes, the last 3 being all C6 Z06's.

It was a media report.

I have bought and sold a lot of cars. Most buyers don't do much research if any. My "unreliable" 2001 Ram sold for a premium price after I owned it for 14 years. It was the rated as the worst truck in existence when I bought it new.

Your many post trying to convince others the C7 is flawed in many ways is actually becoming humorous.
Our Corvette is going to drop in value because millions read the CR article or will look it up prior to buying a used Corvette...

My posts in part are confirming some of the obvious flaws that countless others are mentioning in because they see the obvious...

I guess there are some folks who do not feel Consumer Reports is a reliable source ,and that receiving an awful rating from the publication is cause for celebration ...

So you have YOUR answer. YOU should not buy a C7.

Your exaggeration about the amount of power Consumer Reports has in shaping folks buying decisions is why you are getting push back. "Millions", "Countless"....please. I have owned 5 Corvettes. My 2014 C7 has been flawless, with NO unscheduled stops.

Jimmy

PS. Based on the level of sales of the C7, clearly there are more than just "some folks" who do not feel Consumer Reports is a reliable source. IMO, sports car buyers do not look to Consumer Reports for ANY information regarding their purchase.

After seeing how dedicated (manical?) Corvette owners are I doubt this report will have any impact on C7 sales now or in the future. Sales will naturally go down as the market becomes saturated, but not because of a reliability poll.

CR has been around for 80 years .....over one million subscribers plus all the folks that read it ..quote it ..see it with their on line account ..and the fact ..that it may be the most quoted pubilcation ..
and you feel it's ratings are not going to effect the sales and resale of products. Interesting ... I doubt G.M. was smiling when the list of the top twenty worst vehicles was published..

I did not find any joy in the dismal rating that my new C7 received..
