Good for you. You purchased a great road trip car. Better late than never.

I didn't realize that I was hijacking the thread. It was not my intention. I was just posting about the OP saying, in his original posting, that he was going to do a road trip down the coast, etc, and I gave him some ideas as to where he could travel in his Corvette while in CA, OR and WA and showed some photos of those locations.

Why were my comments and photos removed and LimeRock is allowed to post a photo of a Hudson, and his comments about his selling it, that has nothing to do with the OP's original posting?

Congrats Maxie to you and your family! Fantastic that dreams do come true. Wishing you many smiles and miles in your Vette and on your travels. Love that your grandson is right there as your co-pilot!

Congrats, beautiful car. You picked the best edition (C-7) of all corvettes. Fantastic car. Don't give your key fob to your grandson, you want see your car or him again.

Congrats....

Here's my story...my dad worked for Chevy for 50 years - '37 - '87.
I was always around his company cars, worked in dealerships and the Tarrytown factory in summers.
When I could drive and it was summer he'd let me "build" his summer car and let me take it out on Friday and Saturday. He'd expense the gas - "get me a receipt" was all he asked of me.
Sweet mid to late 60s and early 70s cars - SS this and that, Camaros but never a Corvette - he had to carry too much stuff around and nobody got a Corvette company car anyway.
My earliest Corvette memory is late 50s when he came home with a white one to take my mother out to something - a show , dinner, I don't know.
The West Point dealer sold a lot of Corvettes to grads back then. We'd go there on Announcement Day and I'd be all over the one or two Vettes that he had on the lot in the Fall.
I always wanted one and next week mine will be built. Still can get Family discount as a legacy. Blade Silver coupe...
4 weeks to delivery.

PRICELESS

I too wanted one for over 40 years. Long ago I found a green 66 convertible modified for autocross but I needed the money for school. Just a few weeks ago I found a used 2014. Had to sell my 1954 Hudson Hornet Hollywood last spring to afford this.

But I found a green car to replace my green car.

Lots of good stories here. Yes I have waited also, not as long as some of you.

One thing is that the day has arrived and no one can take that away. I picked up my new C7 on Aug.25 and have had it out about 25-30 times and it gets better each time.

Thanks for the stories everyone and enjoy your Corvette.

Big Congratulations !!!! This is a lesson to everyone. You only go around in this world one time and it seems far too short once you hit the big 60 and beyond. So start on that bucket list while you are young and check everything off. No matter if it is something you just want to do in life or something you want to own, do whatever it takes to get it done!!! At 66 years old I can satisfyingly say I finished my list years ago. Flown airplanes, built and driven sprint, late model and modified race cars, built custom motorcycles, many street rods, muscle cars and 3 Corvettes, all on a middle class working mans financial limitations. If I worked as hard at getting wealthy as I did making my dreams happen, I would be a millionaire, but I wouldn't trade those memories for all the money in the world. Can't take the money with you when you die. Just finished my wife's bucket list of building her a new 32 Ford 3 window coupe and traveled 6300 miles doing all of route 66 and more last month. Lots of other new little things we will get around to doing in the next few years but the big bucket list items are done and life has been an extra pleasure because we concentrated on getting them done.
