Cross Beam. Adapters
I've seen posts that discuss the use of cross beam adapters for use in lifting C7's from the GM recommended lifting points. I have seen adapters made from 2x6's with pads at the ends. I have also seen folks who are offering cross beam adapters for sale. Theses are steel fabrications with a stem that fits the saddle hole in your jack. These adapters make contact with nearly the entire cross beam. My impression, from looking at the GM diagrams that illustrate the lifting points, is that the recommendation is for point contact or semi-point contact at or near the ends of the cross beams, not spreading the load out across the entire beam. Maybe those shaded areas are intended to illustrate jack stand placement. That's not to say that they could not also be used for jacking the car as well.
So, should the load be spread across the entire cross beam or not?
Anyone care to chime in?

2 minutes, it's on 4 stands...1 lift per side, front pucks only
