Old.....plain and boring

New....Much better looking, better ergonomics, not boring.

If you still have the round steering wheel and are interested in having a flat-bottom steering wheel, we can get those for you!!

I didn't even know I was getting a flat bottom wheel when I ordered.

Steering is a bit funky, but easy to get used to.

The bigger deal for me is my bad back. And with the flat bottom it is easier for me to get in the car as I hold onto the wheel to support myself dropping in. It's a bit harder to scrape the wheel bottom getting myself into the seat. Especially if I remember to leave the flat bottom tilted a bit towards my door.

Original concept was for heel/toe footwork room and overall leg room for aggressive road course driving.
It provides some nice legroom and good looks for us regular street drivers.

Jake I've seen the seat mod mentioned in many threads but the specifics are missing. Would you be able to comment on how much additional legroom and headroom you gained? Were you able to tell if you were crushing anything? Does the memory seat function bring the seat all the way back to where you left it? I've heard some people say it makes no difference so hearing what changed would be helpful.

Thanks

I measured the two OEM wheels this weekend. D bottom wheel gets you 1/2 in of clearance. I'm 6' 3", 200 lbs and every little bit helps.

Note for installers, steering bolt is a major PITA. I wouldn't use an impact wrench. Breaker bar. I started with an impact and stripped the bolt. It was really fun then, but got it out after several hours and ordered a new $3 bolt.

A flat bottom steering wheel gives me a greater sense of occasion driving my C7. Its so different from driving my other cars' round wheels...a reminder that I'm driving a driving machine and enjoy the overall experience. Just a special feeling.

Provides more leg room getting in and out of the car. Also provides more leg room when driving with enthusiasm on a manual .

Wait, my car has a flat bottom wheel? lol (yes it does. that was sarcastic comment, don't go losing your minds...)

Yes, it's for leg room getting in and out, and I've never really noticed it when driving.

Mine gives me more space to get in and out of the car, so I appreciate it.
