Default Easy Do-It-Yourself cleaning and wax treatment

Please recommend an EASY retail or online wash and wax product for a yellow 2016 corvette. I don't want to use the local drive through wash-a-teria and there are no pressure wash stations in the Boca Raton, FL area. I have to leave my vette outside and would like to preserve the paint finish and decals the best I can. I don't want something which will cause scratches or circles.
Thanks,
Bob

It's really not about a "magical best " product, it is about the procedure . Search the detailing forms on how to do a simple wash.

The "rinseless method" - This is the easiest:

You should look into getting a ceramic coating like CQuartz done. That'll protect it, and make your upkeep a lot easier with simple washing and a spray on upkeep. Just my two cents.

Do a search on the forums for the rinseless wash method. I was a convert to that system with my 2014 Stingray, and now with my 2016 Z06. Also spray a little Prima Hydro onto each section of the car right before you dry it. Here's a link

try duragloss aquawax when you run out of Hydro. I own both the DG and the Prima, , they both work equally well, but duragloss is way cheaper. Get a gallon.

I have shopped the film coatings in Boca Raton/Delray Beach area near me and I was quoted nearly $7,000 to cover all painted surfaces and trim except decal. Way too much IMO.

That is why I am looking at a detailed finish which should be less then 1,000, my guess and help simplify cleaning. Your thoughts.
Thanks,
Bob

Liquid Glass. Been using the Polish for over 30 years with amazing success on most of the vehicles I have owned (85 and counting). Simple, and easy to use. Two steps. 1. Wash Car. 2. Apply LG Polish. The only exception is the use of the LG Pre-Cleaner before the 1st coat of Polish. If you are interested, I can PM you my recommendations in detail.

Everyone kinda jumped in with suggestions on how to do it yourself, which is great, my take was you wanted it set up so you could just do a simple wash upkeep. I think a nanoceramic coating would be a good way to go. CQuartz and Opti-coat are two of those. It's not film, you can read about it, it's a polymer coating that bonds with the paint to seal it. Makes upkeep a lot easier. Of course, it's all in the prep.

I jumped on Yelp and found a positively reviewed detailer named Advanced Mobile Detailing. I'm not terribly familiar with Fl geography, they are out of Miami, but they're mobile (duh). They do coatings and might be worth a call. Advancedmobiledetailing dot net.

Autogeek is located just north of you in Stuart. Fl (East Coast) and has a wide array of ceramic paint coatings. I have used their Pinnacle Black Diamond Paint Coating with great success ($79.99). They sell many other products. Visit their website for numerous ideas, DIY videos etc.

Autogeek may not be the lowest prices for some detailing supplies, but they do sell just about anything anyone might need. Amazon.com is another great source for low prices and fast shipping (Prime).

If you have a DA polisher, then you can do a $1000 to $3000 detail job yourself (for about $125 to $150) just taking your time (about 6-7 hours) and following a specific detail process.

CF member "Glen e" has a great list of processes to complete and make any DIY detail job a breeze.

I have completed all my own detailing on my premium sports cars.
The results is spectacular.

You can do it.

I agree 100% - the CQuartz on my 2015 makes it a snap to rinseless wash and provides that protection you are looking for. It is much cheaper than a full set of plastic (which I always think looks like plastic on the car, although many others disagree with me) and while it doesn't provide the same protection from rocks it otherwise helps with bird droppings, tar, dead bugs, etc.

Try Poor Boys water less cleaner. It also contains a detailer. Made especially for your Corvette Racing yellow, or not. Autogeek has it, wait for a sale and free shipping. It happens often.

NuFinish is the same as Rejex, same inventor, and a solid polymer....but they are last generation… In that you have to buff them off, and the white haze on those two products is miserable. Step into the 21st-century and get some "wipe on walk away" product (wowa product type).

there's scads of them, Blackfire, Zaino, Optimum, etc everybody makes one and all they do is wipe on and then you go drink beer. It self cures...

Two good ones:

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/black...l#.VnRzvryxF00

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/opti-...l#.VnRz67yxF00

And yes, just as much gloss AND DURABILITY as the conventional stuff. Why waste time, ill never go back to buffing, getting it out of the cracks and badges, yecch.....
