I much prefer the look of the engine covers on the car - gives it a more finished look.

No, on the no covers.

I think the cover looks cheap and hides the engine under a silly looking plastic cover. Can't wait to install an E force SC so I'll have a good looking engine to look at and I can throw that cover in the garbage where it belongs.

I'm on a mission to reduce IAT's. Easiest way to build and maintain HP is lower IAT's. So here is alternative: stock plenum cover has a nice blanket underneath it. So all the heat builds off the block and then it is wrapped into the intake manifold with a nice blanket So, took off the plenum and blanket, but retained the smoothy coil covers. Best of both worlds, looks good and reduced heat
You simply reuse the 4 bolts holding the plenum cover, that is what your coil covers will snap into:

Does that top cover just pull right off?

I agree, on the dyno the hood is open and they have big fans blowing air. It would take before and after IAT readings on the road to prove the point. It was Fasterproms that alerted me, it is on a thread about ported intake manifolds. He also recommends removing the weatherstrip seal at the back of the hood. If I can find that post I will share (can someone tell me how to copy and paste another thread)...
