Replacing Stingray grill with a Z06 grill
So from what I've gathered searching here it is possible to replace the stingray grill with a Z06 gril. I've visited three Chevy dealers to order a Z06 grill to do just that and after they consult with technicians they all say it is not possible. By the way I only trust dealers to do work on my car so they are my only option. How can I convince them to do the job?

My dealer, Abel Chevy, in Rio Vista CA, changes them out frequently.

Did mine myself, it is no big deal. Find a competent dealer

Why do you "only trust dealers to do work on your car" when they are obviously incompetent?

Here's a YouTube video how to:
Here's a thread on the forum (might be the same video, I didn't check):
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...val-video.html
There's also a how-to on the "other" forum, but I don't think I can post a link to that.
Edit: my Z06 grill conversion is pictured below.

Seriously
It's something you can do yourself. Take responsibility for it yourself.

However, the 2016 2LT/3LT and 2LZ/3LZ grilles come pre-installed with front-facing cameras, which are not able to be retrofitted to 2014/2015 models. Unless of course, you install the 2016 Z06 grille with cameras and do not hook them up to anything, which would be pointless!

If you only trust guys that are clearly 1000% wrong about the subject, then you need to change your thought process. I would find a very competent body shop if you don't feel like you can do it yourself. Thousands of us did it, with the help of the video of the install without any problems... good luck

I had mine done at a local body shop and they only charged me about $75 for the labor (I brought them the part). The dealer that told you it wasn't possible didn't know what they were talking about.

I did mine (solo) last week....took me about 3 hours....really no big deal if you have the tools.
Once the car is jacked up, it takes about 30 mins to remove the front cover.....
The one important tool you will need will be something like a 1/4" driver with another 8" of extension and a 7MM socket to reach the two screws on each clamp (loosen only) between the headlight and hood.....see below. Once ALL the fasteners have been removed, the two clamps will be your last to loosen, then the cover will come off.
Place the cover on a work bench.....it will take another 30 to 45 mins to remove the Stingray grille, clean and snap in the new "Z" grille.
Take your time with the next step; replacing the cover in reverse order. Fit the cover in place, drop one or two bolts in the top side (across the front, just under the hood) so the cover doesn't fall on the ground. Pulling the area up by the headlight reach your 1/4" socket with extension(s) under the cover and tighten the two clamps making sure the top of the cover is flush with the body (between the headlight and hood). Once completed, the rest of the attachment is easy....perhaps another 30 mins or so.
The UTube video will give you a good idea of where all the bolts and screws are located but doesn't cover the two clamps very well. Hope these few photos help. If you have questions, just yell.

It's scary that these guys are considered the experts yet they don't know **** or are too lazy to mess with doing your car. Where are you located? Perhaps someone local to you that has done their own would consider doing yours. I would trust someone who has done it to their own car before I'd trust the clowns at the dealership that told you it's not possible...
