I have an extreme case of envy every time I drive by one of the new c7's, and my '09 is starting to feel a bit old. Chevey's website has bone stock '16 at 56k - but it's hard to find a used c7 even at *that* price.

So - how many years am I going to have to wait to get my hands on a used c7 that costs modestly less than a new one?

I just googled and found a lot of 2014s with asking prices in the mid-40s, meaning you can probably get them for around $40k.

Why don't you just order a base Stingray the way you want it, instead of trying to "Find" one?
I ordered my 2014 and kept it at $55,000 even with 2LT and Z51 spoiler.
Kelly Blue Book is still $47500 for one in excellent condition.

If you are looking for a Z51 for under $40,000, you may have to wait about 10 years.

Huh? They're already available under $50k. It won't be anywhere near 10 years before they're available under $40k. More like 2 or 3 years at the most.

3 model years old the magic number for under $40k? Probably whatever went down with the early C6s.

Somewhat ironically I have a C7 and desire an LS3 C6 A6 for a daily driver, except I'm gonna keep the C7.

From what I've seen thus far, it seems as if the C7's are retaining their resale value pretty well.

A majority of us are also receiving a discount off MSRP when purchasing brand new, which makes the deal even sweeter when it comes time to sell.

For Z51?
Most I have seen had a sticker of $75K to $80, so below $40K would be half their value.
I had a 2004 Z06 that originally listed for $52K, and when I traded it on a 2014, I still got $25K (about half the value)

A base car below $50K and one going below $40K is a big difference for just 2 years

Do a search. There are numerous 2014 1LT Z51 Vettes for sale right now with asking prices between $45k-$50k. Lots of non-Z51s in the $40k-$45k range. They're depreciating just like previous generations.

Don't ever bother looking for a used C7 on this Forum. Owners seem to think they can drive a C7 for a year or two and then sell it at $5k off MSRP. The fact is you can buy a new C7 for around $6k off MSRP. Take a look at classifieds. Very, very few ever sell. The ones that do go for far less than than the original asking price. Ask me how I know!~

How anyone can think they can buy a car, even a C7, for MSRP price of $60k, drive it for a year or two, put 12k to 20k miles on it, then sell it for $5 to $10k off MSRP is beyond me. Especially when dealers are offering such huge discounts! Then, to top that off, dealers typically get better interest rates than a private buyer can get from their bank.

I laugh when someone on this Forum writes "$59k is firm." Then, three months later realize their car has a real value of $50k and sell it for that. I guess "firm" ain't too "firm" when it comes to real money.

The real money right now on a nicely equipped 2014-15 C7 is mid-40's. You will see 1lt's and a limited number of 2lt's in the high 30's by summertime. Look at AutoTrader, Craigslist, etc.

I speak based upon my experience owning, then selling to the new model with C4 to C5. Then C5 to C6.

Think the post 2014 price bumps are keeping used 14 values up. Ended up paying 53,900 for my 2014 Z51 M7 2LT NPP MSRC with 5091 miles back in October. 45k is where I wanted to be but once I realized it wasn't going to happen with the options I required in 2016 I pulled the trigger.

Just purchased a new c7 last week. lt1 with the 8 speed auto and performance exhaust .and a clear bra on the front which was 520. It seems you can get a better deal on the east coast then down here in las vegas. By the time I would have paid shipping the cost would come down to the same. The car listed for 59300.plus 520 for the added bra. I paid a little over 56k. Their are few c7 at the three dealers here and most are the higher priced ones. no one wants to deal. Love the car sold by 2002 zo6 to get this one. I feel the lt1 is the best return on my money.

I'd like a 2LT+ w/ Z51 and so far they have hit 48-52, I'm also waiting on the 40-45 range.

Once the C7 gets a LT2 or something in it to distance it from the current Camaro SS and Mustang GT I'm sure the prices will hit 40 on LT1 C7s

I'm still seeing 2014's in the mid 40's near 50,000 miles.So with many under 10,000 miles I'm seeing them 46,47and 48K.
I'm thinking around this coming July or augest the 2014's will be going on 3 years old.I'm thinking then you might start seeing A few around 39K.Thats just A guess.
NADA and KBB seems to be keeping the price high.

A week or two ago I bought a 2014 3LT Z51 collectors edition, fully loaded (magride, npp, carbon fiber roof, suede interior, carbon fiber interior, chrome Z51 wheels, etc) with 13k miles for just under $54k.

I get a kick out of this..... The guys that want the Corvette to drop in value are likely the same ones belly aching about how little they get for trade in values in another thread.....

I just pullled Manheim auction data for the 2014 nationally. (I've got dealer access)

It's showing a range from the mid $40's through the low $50's for Stingrays. (I didn't differentiate between models in my search.)

Personally, I think your best bet is to wait until GM releases some incentives on the car and pick one up from the bigger dealers who discount (like Kerbeck, for example.)

With all the discounting and stuff, as well as the low financing rates on a new C7, you end up with a payment for a brand new C7 that's about the same as if you buy a used one and get a decent deal at a higher interest rate.

For those of you who pay cash, stop.
