I have the 8 amp Fat Max from Stanley. Its $30 and it can float and fully charge the battery through the rear port @ WalMart. This unit can fully charge a dead battery unlike most regular float chargers.

I have used the Del Tran tenders for over 10 years. I still have the original one I purchased and it's still going strong. I now use them in my external garage but went with the CTEK 3300 for my Corvette. I sold the one that came with the car as it does not allow for using anything but the lighter port charger and you can't add extension cables.
CTEK 3300 was pretty reasonable and I sold my officially licensed GM version to a fellow forum member.
What's the best battery tender to use or does it matter????
My research determined that the Schumacher SP3 provided the best feature set, design, included accessories (like the 12VDC accessory adapter), and overall value, compared to all the other models I reviewed (CTEK, Deltran, Stanley, etc).
Deltran, CTEK and Stanley are all fine. As is Battery Minder. I've used Deltran and Battery Minder for years, mostly on my bikes, but also on cars in the summer when I'm mostly riding my bike.
I have a full time hamster running in my garage with his wheel attached to converter in trunk to charge. He is trying to unionize though, so probably will get a ctek.
