I took my 2015 in on Tuesday for an airbag recall and I asked them to look at the transmission while they had it. The 1st to 2nd shift is way too "mushy" for this sort of car, it shifts like an old Powerglide. I'd say it’s slipping but the tach doesn’t climb when it shifts. I thought it might need to be flashed and start to re-learn but they checked it out and told me it needs a new torque convertor. This will be the second time the torque convertor is replaced. Now I'm getting concerned.

A week into driving my car post TC replacement, and the the drive is definitely not the same.

The car shakes slightly during cruise, but nevertheless it's not something you'd expect. The biggest issue that has developed is jerking during downshifts in traffic (especially with relatively hard or sudden braking), and at times with upshifts.

Haven't reported the issue yet, but GM are a going to get an earful. Not a happy customer.

Mine is back in the shop about 2 months since new TC and re-program. Shudder when shifting all gears. Waiting for report.

My 2015 has 11,400 miles on it, this will be the third TC. I suppose I'll be ok if it shifts properly when I get it back.

Sounds like you need a new transmission not another TC.

So.....I've got a question for you, bbcb.

You got burned "many years ago" by GM and you'll "never again" buy another GM product. But yet you just joined CorvetteForum a little over a year ago. If you'll "never again" buy a GM product, why did you join CorvetteForum in the first place????

Wow! Let's see if we can make even more trial lawyers rich!

I can see it now, "accept the terms" and an A8 owner will get a $500 coupon toward the purchase of a new car! And the lawyers will get millions!

If mine breaks I think I'll just get it fixed.

You are right a tiger never changes it's stripes. GM s history will never change. But we all know this but we like to hide it from ourselves. Torque tubes..unexplained cracked windshields..leaking oil through the intake. Blank info screens Etc etc All sad things. My 2011 C6 had a rear clicking sound. When tech found the service bulletin it was dated 2005. Simple fix.loose axel nut. Fixed with loctite...Never corrected at factory..rediculous.. My Toyotas and Honda give me over 150k miles without a hitch. And for those who say Japanese cars arent what they used to be, that may be true but they are still WAY ahead of GM in quality. And yes I have a C7. There are a boat load of used 2014s sitting on Chevrolet lots with low milage. ever wonder why so many ?? I have been under hoods for a long time 396 427 etc. When I heard new 8 speed auto, I knew to go right to a 7 speed manual , they can't screw up a clutch system too bad.,

Come on, joining the Corvette Forum a year ago has nothing to do with bbcb not buying another GM product. The guy is frustrated with a lack of GM resolution for A8 Trans problems and he is not the only one. No better place than Corvette forum for information about his early build C7/ A8.

I'm not pleased with the transmission issues, in fact I was a bit nervous about buying the 2015 since it was the first year with the A8 but I just had to have a C7. Right now I'm okay thanks to Stingray Chevrolet. It's a long ride from where I live but the local dealer simply insists that there's no issues. I don't even bother with them anymore expcept for oil changes. And that only because I don't have the dry sump! A good dealer makes all the difference in the world. However, I really hope this takes care of the problem.

Can we just stick to the A8 issues here without hijacking this thread over some sort of argument about forum membership??? Good Grief, is that really a burning issue for you? Take it to private messages if it’s that important to you.

Picked the car up this afternoon. The new TC clearly improved the 1-2 shift. I suppose a few thousand miles will tell the tale though.

2015 Z51 A8. Delivered Apr. 2015. Trans symptoms was a very harsh Park to Drive shift when sitting for 6 hours or more. This started after about a year of ownership. Took it to the dealer this summer and they reprogrammed the transmission. It worked for a few months, then back to the harsh shift. It's been in the shop now for 3 weeks and the TC is STILL on backorder....... Not happy.....
It's my own fault. I broke my own rule of never buying the first year of anything.

The service bulletin 16-NA-014 for the transmission issue is attached if anyone is interested...

Default 2015 Z-51 with A8 Issues Oklahoma area

Mine is in the shop now, getting the TC replaced. I have ~16K miles now, it started acting up somewhere around 10K. Hope this is the fix!!
