Default Corvettes Rock the Rolex 24

Corvettes dominated the Rolex 24 hour race at Daytona this weekend. #2 & 3 in Prototype and 1 & 2 in GTLM classes. The final hour in GT LM had the first and second place Corvettes racing each other (with team permission) for top honors. Amazing show of power, performance and racing discipline. Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lambo, BMW, Viper, Audi and Ford were there, but it was the Corvettes that rocked! The much anticipated Ford GT finished 176 laps behind in 40th place overall and 162 laps behind the C7.Rs in the GTLM class. Great two days for Corvette!

Good win for Corvette Racing but a more competitive race would have been nice.

Are you being sarcastic? Or did you not watch the race?

Not fair. I DVR'd the race and was gonna watch it sometime within the next month. Now you've ruined it for me and like ONE other person on here. Do you realize how many 90210 reruns I had to delete before the DVR would even let me program it for this race? Definitely not cool.

I hope you're being sarcastic here. 6 GTLM's still on the lead lap at the end of 24 hours and the lead was traded multiple times. Corvette simply played a good strategy, all drivers did extremely well, cars were reliable, etc. Considering there were 22 GTD entries, the infield, at times, was like mayhem. Getting through the race without damage, without failure and in first and second place is monumental and the competition did everything to stop it.

Still worthy to watch it knowing the home team wins rather than a less than favorable result. no?

You should have stayed away from this forum until you watched the race. You only have yourself to blame. ("Hey, guys, mum's the word. We can't talk about our beloved C7R Corvettes finishing 1 2 at the Rolex 24 at Daytona until DAFFYDRUNK checks in .")

You might want to read his post again. There's a tiny hint of sarcasm in there. The last thread got locked due to battles between the 'say anything I want" camp and the "don't put spoilers in the title" camp. If you want to continue to discuss the race, I suggest we do our best to keep that topic out of this thread. Alternatively, please head on over to the autocrossing and road racing section of the forums, as we discussed the race all during the race and afterwards, with some good commenting, pictures and such....

One of the very best races ever. The 4 car beat the 3 car by .340 seconds. Garcia tried his very best to pass but missed by half a car!

Default 24hr Daytona

What a fantastic race and finish for C7R team both drivers and crew. And a very special thank you to the team management for allowing Gavin and Garcia to race during the closing hour of the race. Today with team orders this unfortunately is not allowed in many cases. It shows the level of trust in the drivers and the respect for the fans who want to see good racing. Thanks

Then after you read the title of the thread, you still followed it! Why, if you didn't want to know?

Duh, closest finish ever and you thought I was serious? Sorry about that. Is there an emoticon for sarcasm?

Apparently on this forum you literally have to tell people up front you're being facetious or people call you out. Of course I'm always .100% serious in my posts. Still pissed about deleting my 90210 episodes. Brandon Walsh was about to hook up with a milf.

On a serious note: Enjoyed the race but the IMSA Android app kinda sucks. First it seems sluggish. The thing that bugged me even more was the amount of info you had to disclose to sign up. I had to give em my name, phone number, email address, street address, soc sec #, blood type, sexual history, a list of known allergies, and political affiliation. Also, you have to make sure you uncheck some boxes or you may run the risk of a salesman from your local BMW dealership calling you up for a chat. On the plus side, the IMSA app didn't crash every 30 seconds like the stupid *** NASCAR app.
