So far its considered normal by the dealer and hasn't changed in noise level. Mine is a 17 GS with 5,000 miles. Its parked now due to the snow, ice, gravel, sand, and salt that we have here. I think mine continues to make the ticking at higher rpm, but it gets drowned out by the other engine and exhaust noises.

2017 Z51, dealer confirmed the noise I was hearing was NOT a product of the injectors as many think, and is indeed relevant to the TSB. They are replacing the high pressure fuel line at no cost. They say this is common in the camaro's as well.

Ok, I've read through a bunch of the posts here and it seems like the ticking fuel pump issue is fairly common. We noticed a noise from the front end of our 2014 Stingray and my wife suggested that it could be caused by the serpentine belt. Our mechanic inspected the belt and all the pulleys, tensioners and everything else in the front of the car and pronounced it all sound. He suggested that the ticking noise could be the fuel pump. My question is this...is the ticking fuel pump going to become a problem or is it just made to tick just to make the owners crazy? We have 99,000 miles on our 2014 and I didn't notice the ticking until recently. Would it be advisable to just have the fuel pump replaced and if we did that using ONE parts would it just start ticking too???

agreed, likely sticky lifter. I happenned to me only once!
Here is a video of what the sound is on my sticky lifter, it happened after only driving the car for a few hundred miles though like 800-1000 miles.


It is a 2019 Stingray, the sound went away next time I drove the car, I took it to the dealer to make sure there wasn't a problem, they checked it out, no issues. all good since then! Scary as a first time owner and having this noise within the first month. However, car has been working like a champ!

Yes, I agree as well, a lifter.
Fuel pump tap isn't as loud and will noticeably be coming from driver side rear engine bank.

I do recall that pump is under the intake manifold and there is insulation that supposedly keeps the noise down. Back in 2013 or 2014 they were finding that insulation was not sealing all around in some cars. That left and area that the noise was coming from.

Believe it or not it could be a loose plug. I had this exact issue on my C5 and for the life of me couldn't understand how a plug could come loose after checking the torque on all 8 three times.. It happens. But probably not in the case of the car in the video.. Now that's a tick.
