Default Z06 Repro wheels installed on Base Stingray

I was one of the first to order the Z06 style reproduction wheels with DocZ-1stratecorvetteparts.com a sponsor and CF vendor. My order was placed in November 2015 and the wheels were delivered on Feb 2, 2016. It was well worth the wait.

Today, my tires from Discount Tire were available so, I had the wheels mounted. My new set of tires chosen were the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 tires. I have a comparison between the OEM GM Michelin tires and the new in an image below. The ride is smooth and quiet, much more than the stock Michelin's.

The tires were mounted but not placed on the 2015 Stingray base as I completed the install myself.

The wheels are the Z51 fitment installed on the Stingray Base. Thus, the wheel sizes are 19x8.5" and 20x10's". After picking up the mounted tires, I cleaned each tire and wheel then applied a nano ceramic wheel coating to protect the finish and cut down on any brake dust.

The wheels were mounted on the car using Fred's @ Reverse Logic (CF Vendor) "stud extenders". It made it very easy to place the wheels on the hubs. I highly recommend this small item. They work great.

Today was a beautiful sunny day in southern New Mexico with ultra blue skies. You can tell from the blue sky reflection in the wheels.

The aftermarket wheels are high quality and are Factory Reproduction branded wheels. 2 Yr warranty on the chrome and lifetime structural.

The balance of the wheels out of the box was excellent with only 2 weights needed, and on 1 wheel, no lead weights were needed.

I highly recommend these wheels for any C7 owner who might be interested in an aftermarket wheel with proper offsets for either the Stingray base or Z51 models. I highly recommend using my vendor of choice Docz-1stratecorvetteparts.com. He has the best prices on these wheels and states he will beat anyone's price points. Contact is Keith, and he was great to work with. He has outstanding communications skills keeping up with after the sale emails.

Thanks for posting... I just found those this morning while digging for Wheels for my C7. I'll say this, the Chromium Look KILLER with your Red paint. My car is white and I was thinking Black but after seeing yours, I'll consider the Chrome.

Adds value to your car.

Fastoldguy:

Keith @ 1stratecorvetteparts.com is located in Florida so it would be an easy ship from his shop to you.

These Z06 wheels are available in Chrome, Black and a new Black Chrome.

If you're toying with the idea of black, you may want to consider the Black Chrome. Keith is a great person to deal with, and I am quite sure he will accommodate you very well. Keith is the ideal source for C7 owners located in Florida or along the East coast due to his shops geographically location. He ships ultra fast.

Thanks for the positive remarks on my C7. The wheels really help the car pop. I too, love the Torch Red. My favorite color of course.

Thank you, Keith. You have served me well, and you have an outstanding business model. You do what you say you will do, which is hard to find in today's world of business.

Really nice car and I like the wheels' pattern!

I would totally do red again if not for the fact that my current car is red with red leather seats.

There was an earlier question about wheel weights used to balance these aftermarket wheels. These are high quality wheels and well balanced from the factory. In my case with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires, Discount Tire only had to use 2...1/4oz...lead weights for balancing. As noted above, 1 wheel required no weights at all.

Just wondering if those "stud extenders" are a requirement to make these rims fit? Will they mount just on the stock studs? I have a set of these rims on order in black chrome.

BlueDevilZ51:

The stud extenders are only used to replace the wheels back on the wheel hubs, not to extend the actual studs. Using the stud extenders makes it so easy to remount the wheel on the hub.

The Z06 style repro wheels are a perfect offset, and fitment is perfect. There is no need to extend the studs coming out of the wheel hub.

Also, the OEM GM lug nuts are a perfect fit also.

Here's an image of the stud extenders I used to remount the wheels and tires.

Stud extenders are only used to install the wheels, then they are removed. Not required, but a good idea to install the wheels so the chrome doesn't get chipped on the threaded lug studs.

Richard,

Do you have the 19/20s for the Z51 in Black Chrome?
