He knows not what he is talking about
Jalopnik:
"...While the Z51 is more than acceptable out on the race track, it’s nowhere near as wonderful as the Grand Sport or the Z06 because it’s just not as fast or as sharp an instrument.
While the Z06 is still great fun on a track, and a true beast between the stop lights, it’s the Grand Sport that offers what you seek from a dual-natured track and street machine. It’s the best current Corvette in the lineup, hands down."

This guy clearly has not driven a Z51 on a track or a mountain road. "Not as sharp an instrument"? He spews words without experience, without knowing. I just completed 5500 miles from San Diego to Mpls, powering through winding mountain roads in AZ, UT and CO regularly at 1G to 1.1G. Z51 is as sharp as most drivers can do it! Bunk

Now that shipping of 2017 Corvettes has commenced, the following information regarding Z51 Stingray and Grand Sport transmission and cooling upgrades has been authorized for public release:
- 2017 manual transmission equipped vehicles are equipped with the front auxiliary engine coolant radiator.
- 2017 8-speed automatic equipped vehicles are equipped with the additional front auxiliary transmission cooler.
- There are no engine cooling changes for the 8-speed vehicles.
I started a new thread for discussion of these changes here: 2017 Transmission Upgrade Announcement and Discussion Thread
Also, Mike Furman at Criswell Chevrolet, has confirmed that 61 M7 orders nation-wide will be accepted this consensus! TPW for those 61 orders will be August 22. Thank you, Mike!

So if my TPW for a 2017 GS M7 is 8/8, it wont have this upgrade?

It means that 75-90% of people who buy a corvette get an auto So for the few that want a manual and are waiting this is good new, but for those getting an auto, well..they are having fun already driving their cars. All in jest of course, I don't care what transmission people get.

Funny...but I like to believe it has more to do with in town driving in general no matter what the age. I liked ripping through the gears in my last one, but in my GS I got an auto, don't regret it at all due to all the traffic.
