I had already resigned to the fact my next new corvette I ordered would be a Z06. However, the introduction of a GS could make me reconsider. For me, the GS would need to be in the 525-550 HP range and still maintain a $10K gap in price to the Z06 for two like equipped cars for me to purchase. Otherwise, I will purchase the Z06. Since I, like the over whelming majority don't track my cars the GS being naturally aspirated makes no difference to me.

This will be really interesting. There is a range:

Will they go 'limited edition paint job' (like the Z06 C7R edition / or those California / Atlantic packages)?
Or other extreme

Take a Z06, keep all the track enhancements, but without the supercharged engine?

I'm hoping it will be a wide-body, at a minimum.

..or is it all a "leap year day" joke...

Why choose the Geneva autoshow and not one based on US soil, when the largest % of sales are here.

Not sure this is all it seems, but I sure hope so!

My Vettes:
2007 Z51 (sold)
2011 GS (traded in)
2015 Z51
2018 GS?

Maybe the GS (and its pricing) is targeted more for increased international sales and GM are using this strategy to maintain C7 sales volume? That's why the Geneva auto show release?

I mean they could have done this at the Chicago or Detroit auto shows just a short time ago..

485 I think is possible...I dont see 500 happening....BUT...Tadge said they were working on a motor yrs back. Gonna come down to fleet fuel mileage spread and epa. If there is room, we may be seeing the ultimate Corvette of compromises...higher hp NA, great aero, wide body, etc.

Word

Almost every C7 track car we see is a stripped Base Car with
aftermarket suspensions and engine work, or completely stock. don't
see many Z06's at all

But the BIG question.....can this new car be afforded by the $55,000 to $65,000 consumer? If not - we (I'm that guy) need an affordable Corvette.

Dont be suckered by the options list and I bet you can have it. Everyone is scared of a 1LT. I will buy a base model GS...period. I will add what I need out of pocket.

My guess is starting price of $60,500 *if it replaces the Z51 model*

or $66,400 if it does not replace the Z51 model

The 6th gen Camaro Z28 is going to need a new motor. I can see a beefed up NA LT motor being shared between the two.
