Not that they are not a good looking wheel, but I'm surprised they didn't come up with a new design for a C7 grand sport.

If the markup is only 8k from base... they can expect to sell these like hot cakes.

the z51 is 5k over base, then another 2k for mag ride. So right there is 7 of the 8k from base.

so for the last 1k dollars you get the wide body, z06 brakes, bigger/better wheels tires, and z06 aero/brake cooling.

If it's really midway and not 3k or 5k above the Z51, I guess that really takes it out of consideration for me. Especially if there won't be any discounts on the GS in the first year.

Saw a gray GS on tv at the Barrett Jackson auction, the blue hash marks looked painted on? I am sure still a decal, correct? Car looked bad ***.

The current hood stinger / racing stripe decals are a vinyl substrate that is then painted and clearcoated; and they would most likely produce the fender hash stripes in the same manner.

Unless I'm missing something, $8K over base is not $68.4K. That's nearly $8K over the base with Z51 (about $7K I guess). That's quite a large premium given what the GS apparently comes with.

If it's $8K over base withOUT Z51, it should start at around $63K, right? And that would be a great price. Or is the 68.4K with the Z07 package...? That may be a little on the low side, though.

The problem is that two people said very different things:
1. Tadge said it would be $8k over 'base' to MotorTrend during a quick set of questions,, though in honesty I think he slipped in a comparison to how the old C6 GS was priced.
2. Harlan Charles said it would be mid-way between Z51 and Z06, thus making it likely to be $8k above the Z51 and Z06 which means it'll be closer to 68-70k in pricing for the GS.

Now the M7 1LT Z51 with no options shows $61,395 on the configurator. MSRC adds $1795 to the price. The Z06 grill shows up, so let's call that $550 (assuming the price of a 3LT Grille option under the Performance section of a 3LT build, not a 1LT). The difference then starts to look a little smaller, around $5k instead of $8k-10k

Now the other question I have about the GS is, does it come with the side skirts standard (not the carbon fiber ones, just the carbon flash ones) or is that also only at an additional price as an available option?

The GS spec sheet with photos that is posted in another GS thread lists the ground effects as standard with "available" full carbon fiber versions as an option.

The GS isn't going to come with the competition seats standard, is it?

I believe the side skirts is known as ground effects package level 2. Selecting this option will also change the front splitter to a level 2, instead of the poverty one.

Check out the GS Hero Card that Mike Furman posted:

http://s420.photobucket.com/user/mfu...dia/2.png.html

On side with the Admiral Blue GS, take a look at the column on the right. It lists the front splitter, side skirts and wickerbill spoiler with the rest of the standard features, and notes that a full carbon version is an available option.

Now we just need an official price on this C7 with all the included goodies!

I was looking at the hero card a week ago (which you posted below too) and the text made it feel like the whole thing may be an 'available' package with carbon fiber being an even more expensive package.

I know that's true on the Z06, that the side skirts only come with the Level 2 package and that the Level 1 has the poverty spoiler. From the way the GS has been introduced, it sure looks like it might be included (which would make it a good deal) but I'm still unsure that it is. The Admiral blue car shown in many of the pictures and the hero cards seems to have the side skirts but with the poverty splitter. I guess the order guides will clear it up.

I'd love it if I could get the Z51 spoiler on this car, haha.

And yes, need a price soon!

Yea... Either way, even if the stage 1 front splitter AND z06 carbon flash side skirts are included, without knowing the actual price of the GS, we won't be able to tell if its a good deal or not.

Assuming the price is "good" I might just get the GS and swap out the OEM tires for REPRO Z06 tires in z51 size... This way, I can put all seasons on them and use it as a DD

No, no.. It won't be 85k... a lot of reputable folks on this thread have speculated that it'll be between 65k and 69k.. Personally I think it'll come in at about 68k.

I am not sure there will be discounts on the Z06. Production will begin for the Stingray and Grand Sport on 6/24. NO Z06 will be built until September 5. So there may be a pent up demand. If you want a Z06, now would be the time to buy off dealers lots.

I can only speak to the CURRENT Z06 discounts and they are between 7 and 10 thousand off MSRP.
The 2017's will be different as the Z06 will probably get the 10-speed automatic and that might change the discounts. We'll just have to wait and see.
But I don't expect to see any discounts on the GS early on.
