Will the Z51 option be deleted for 2017 now that we have a Grand Sport?

Im not just a driver/ owner of a Corvette, im a lifer. I care about the current and future success of the BRAND Corvette. Not everyone wants a widebody as their performance focused model and so the Z51 Narrow body should live on. And if Corvette can continue to tastefully expand its range through mutiple model offerings so that it appeals to a wider range of buyers without losing its core focus then so be it. Whatever it takes to sustain the Brand.

I wont argue with a fellow Corvette owner on an online Corvette forum about 911 superiority because that'd be foolish. Therefore I agree with you that for most if not all of us here Corvette>911 is a shared thought.

Porsche sells more sports cars worldwide than Corvette... gets 50-70% more revenue per unit than Corvette, and the Corvette outperforms Porsche in virtually every measurable category of performance.
As a marketing guy, maybe you'd be smart to figure out WTF they are doing?

The C7 is in my opinion, the first Corvette model that GM finally "done right."

That's how I'd do it, but I'm not a decision maker at GM, so... who knows what they will do. At least till the end of april.

At the very best Z51 is a "trim level," but more than likely it's an option (due to it having an RPO code). The fact there is an ordering model in the GM system means nothing.
As I've stated like 10000 times, Cadillac has each trim level be it's own ordering model, and they even split ordering models for RWD versus AWD.
Furthermore, a "model" is defined by the government. As in the "make" and the "model" of your car. All Corvettes are make Chevrolet and model Corvette. Then comes your trim, is it 1LT, Z51 1LT or Z06 1LZ, etc...
I mean, really guys this is simple. What baffles me are three things:
1. People care (I literally am only posting because I'm trying to teach people how the auto industry works seeing that I work in it).
2. The lack of logic of 99% of people on the internet (although maybe in general I give the common man way to much intellectual credit).
3. The fact that no one here actually understands the difference between "marketing" and "manufacturing" (which ordering is a part of)

I'm going to agree that they are all corvettes and anything else really is kind of irrelevant. In michigan, the titles say Corvette as the model regardless of the trim or options. Z06 included.
Back to the real question. Admiral Blue or WG Grey?? I'd like to see the Z07 aero on the blue car.

I don't think Z51 will go away. I think there will be enough differential between them(content and money). The Z51 is a pretty comprehensive and capable package already.

That's my guess as well. But it's really all just guesses. We will find out when GM announces the details for 2017 (probably at the NCM bash)

Dave, seriously Z51 is an option, not a model I know this for a fact. I ordered a 2016 Stingray with the Z51 option, along with Mag ride, A8, CF dash, Twilight Blue Design Package. Seriously, it an option, model.
