Default Big & Tall guys, how did you manage to fit in your C7?

I am 6' 4" and just over 300 pounds at the moment with much of my height in my torso. I tried to sit in a 2015 C7 last year at the Houston auto show, and with the seat all the way back and all the way down, the back of my head hits the roof line (targa top was off - I hit the rubber seal with the back of my head) and my knees were almost touching the dash.

I had 3 different Vettes previously (2003 Z06, 2006 C6 coupe, 2008 Z06) and had no problems with interior space. But unless there's a way to get more room in the C7, I am stuck waiting for C8.

If there's no solution, when I get back into a Vette in a few years it will have to be a 2013 model.

Any feedback is appreciated.

At 6-2, and 200 lbs, I fit "okay" behind the wheel. It's do-able, but as a passenger, it's downright uncomfortable for more than an hour or two. No room in the footwell for my size 13s, and my knees are up against the glove box. I don't get why they didn't make the interior a bit larger...and I'm not that big.

Face away from the car and sit. Pivot on your butt rotating and folding your legs in. Of, course, the steering column is leery fully raised.

My cousin is 6'10", puts the seat all the way back, the back as far back as it will go, and squeezes himself in. He looks like a grasshopper. You should see him in economy class on an airplane.

Getting in the car with the Targa roof off of it wasn't the problem. Driving it would be a problem. Unless there's a way to move the seat to get more room, I'd look like this:

6'6-300 Seats all the way back, reclined. It's true, the C7 is a bit tighter than the C6, but I can fit.

I go one leg in, use the clutch to slide my right leg under the steering wheel and away I go.

While I am only six feet tall, I have issues with the seats. I am too wide to fit comfortably in the regular seats and no way I could fit in the comp seats. Driving is OK but I don't fit "back" in the seat as I would like. Left arm is basically locked down for the drive unless I want to lean over a bit. My jacket size is a 56 and waist of 38 so the edges of the seat rests on my shoulders. Wife loves the passenger side and can practically swim around over there. Also for the OP, the targa tops are higher above the driver and passenger section so you might try sitting in one with the top on to see if you fit.

Evil427.....this is an old and oft repeated problem. No matter what GM stats say, the C7 is tighter with less room for tall folks. GM Engineers admit it at Carlisle and talk about "we are working on it" year after year....but no difference. You will find many suggestions on just how to adjust the seat, also disconnecting the seat sensor (stopper) that is behind the seat on the bulkhead (was new on the C7). But, for me anyway, (6'4" and 235 pounds) there is no solution. Could I get in and drive it? Sure. Would I be comfortable on an extended trip? No. So....I will keep my 2008 vert which has been an OUTSTANDING car without a single issue since purchased new...it has more room and I have driven it on week long club tours and been perfectly comfortable at the end of a long day. I keep hoping that someone at GM will realize they need to provide for those of us that are a bit taller when designing the C8.

Almost the same specs here... Like AP I fit "OK" but if I was any bigger I probably wouldn't own a C7.

I went to lunch today in a co-worker's Honda Del Sol. Now THAT is a low and tight cockpit.

I'm 6 foot 3, weigh about 185 pounds. Fit easily and am always comfortable. Your height isn't the issue. It's your weight. Corvette's priority is to be a competent sports car. The engineers and designers did what they needed to do to achieve that.

6'5 1/2 220 lbs fits like a glove as long as I have the seat tilted a little bit back. Makes a big difference. Transparent roof panel also helps and ads a little more headroom. Doing yoga every once and awhile makes getting in and out easier too. You should rent one for a day or two and play with the seat settings. You will find a way to fit! :-)

Funny, I had the almost same exact experience at the Washington DC auto show in early 2015, with a twist ........except I am 6' 2" and thin, maybe 170 pounds.

Sat in the car at the show and hated the seat back rests........thought they were very uncomfortable, although leg room was great for me. I got out and the next guy, my same exact height, got in and immediately got out saying he didn't fit at all.

So I gave up on the C7 until I test drove one at a dealer two weeks later and thought the seats were unbelievably comfortable the second time..........so I bought one..........and have been very happy ever since.

Go figure! Maybe the moral is don't test drive at auto shows when everybody is adjusting the seat all over the place?
