C7 Corvette aFe Power Momentum Sealed Intake System

Power, Protection and Simplicity

aFe is proud to introduce the all new Momentum sealed intake system for the 2014-2016 Chevrolet Corvette (C7) with the V8-6.2L engine. This all new Momentum intake system resulted in 18 horsepower and 22 lbs. x ft. torque and outflows the factory intake by 42%. This system is superior in every way, from the one-piece sealed housing, to the massive air filter, roto-molded tube w/ built-in resonance chamber and premium hardware. This system uses a CAD designed, dyno-tuned, roto-molded intake tube & housing to achieve maximum power gains while maintaining a perfect fit. This is a direct bolt-on kit and requires no cutting or drilling on OEM parts.

Unique One-Piece Housing w/ Sight Window:
The one-piece sealed housing is used to eliminate the use of multiple components and ensure the coolest air intake charge available. A large clear sight window allows for filter inspection without removal of the air box. The roto-molded housing is made out of black cross-linked polyethylene and mounts directly into the factory location on the fender well to capture the coolest air available from the factory intake tract.

Roto-molded Tube:
This system uses a CAD designed, dyno-tuned, roto-molded intake tube to achieve maximum power gains while maintaining a perfect fit. This tube has a built-in resonance chamber to catch un-wanted air intake noises. Two billet aluminum fittings are mounted on the tube to provide a perfect connection with the factory vacuum lines.

Massive Cone Air Filter:
This Momentum intake system was designed around the largest filter possible to allow maximum performance and filtration. This cone filter has a massive 7" oval flange and is 9-1/2" tall Pro 5R filter media. The Pro 5R performance air filter features 5-layers of progressively finer mesh cotton gauze oiled media and is constructed with 100% polyurethane frame for long life and multiple cleaning cycles.

Premium Hardware:
Premium stainless steel T-bolt clamps and a reinforced silicone hump coupler are used for strength and durability while also providing the most secure installation available. Momentum intakes are designed with fewer parts for a quick and simple installation.

Proven Results:
After a rigorous design and testing phase, the results are in. The Momentum air intake system outflowed the factory intake by 42% and resulted in 18 additional horsepower and 22 lbs. x ft. torque.

*Note: This intake system is not CARB exempt at this time and is not legal for sale in California or use on vehicles registered with the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

Don't know what hp I gained but the intake sound at WOT is definitely great and worth the price! Not quite as loud as the 14 inch diameter 5 inch high filter I have on my 8.2 Liter BB in my street rod. In that case at WOT the intake is as loud at it's long tube headers and 3 inch pipes with straight though Borlas!

The aFe system has a larger filter than the OEM so it's lower restriction just from size. The intake tube has smoother bends and is larger. In fact I was concerned that it might hit the lower radiator hose but they had molded a recess in the case at that spot so clearance was fine! Well thought through. Where the OEM screws holding the MAF just screw into plastic, they use brass nutserts and real screws! First class.

One poster who has his car dyno'ed before and after the install indicated the tests showed 10 hp gain. However his installer didn't want any possible warranty issues so used their kit with non-oiled paper filter. I bought the lower restriction oiled filter. Have used oiled K&N filters for years and never had an issue. You just have to be careful NOT to use excess oil when cleaning and reoiling. In fact when dry sump owners are overfilled by the dealer it results in oil in the intake flowing down to the filter right past the MAF then dripping on the ground. Dealer will replace the filter and clean the intake tube but don't see many mentioning adding a new MAF! Since that is a dealer screw-up the cost is his dime an any issues could occur later!

Bottom Line, worth getting just for the sound. Cheaper than the 5 hp I gained at ~twice the price for NPP in the 2014!
