Z06 Laguna Blue/Twilight Blue and J57 Ceramic Brakes~One of One~Mike@Criswell's 16th
~This is my own delivery thread. Every Sunday morning I post some of the Corvette deliveries of the previous week. Well I kept this a surprise for the most part. Feb 9th I had an extra Z06 allocation and decided to place an order for what I feel will be "One of One". Now in my 38th year of selling Corvettes this is what I chose to order as my 16th Corvette: 2016 Z06 Cpe in Laguna Blue Tintcoat with Twilight Blue interior, 3LZ pkg, AE4 Competition seats, D30 Color over ride, J57 Carbon Ceramic Brakes, 7spd manual trans, and 5Z8 10 spoke Blade Pearl Nickel Alum wheels. My new Z06 got completed last Wednesday the 9th of March and arrived at Criswell on the 16th. Friday is my day off but I seem to be in more than I am out so I stayed the day and watched over some deliveries getting washed as my 16th Corvette that I have owned got PDI'd and the wheels switched. I will never understand why the factory sends these cars with the standard wheels when ordering the special 10 spoke Blade Pearl wheels...once my Corvette was completed I drove it home to wash myself as I didn't want to get stuck in rush hour traffic on a Friday. I ordered the Photobook from the Corvette museum which will have 30-35 pictures from various stages of the Z06 getting built at the plant. Looking forward to seeing that.
Zero miles...
~My office desk view of my Z06 waiting to get PDI'd...
~My 2015 Z06 with the Laguna Blue Calipers has 2,033 miles and is for sale at Criswell. Call me on my desk line 301-212-4420 or pass the word.
~Just before I drove home in my new '16 Z06...is it "One of One"? We shall see what the final 2016 Production numbers look like in a few months.
~Home...still needs to be cleaned but home.

Awesome car Mike ! Love the new wheels much better than the black. Will the blue interior ever be available on the Corvette without having to jump through hoops to get it ? I can't remember the last time blue interior was easily ordered as an option. Triple blue would be my choice on a base Stingray convertible.

Better pictures to follow once the car is cleaned.

Love the silver 10 spoke wheels. Much better than the dark wheels you had on your 2015. Good news is, the 50 percent of vettes junkies that like the black or spectra wheel look, will have a nice low mileage well cared for vette to select from your inventory. Enjoy the new ride.

Gorgeous car. Color combination is truly stunning. Am I understanding that the Nickel Pearl Blade wheels are shipped separately to the dealership ? Wonder if the factory is not wanting to risk in transit issues considering their expense vs the base wheel ?

Great build. I love the blade wheels. I'm really surprised the wheels come separately and need to be swapped-out, which I understand is quite an involved process. What happens to the wheels that came on the car? If someone orders the blade wheels, do they effectively "buy" two sets of wheels and now have a second set they can keep or sell?

SeaIsle, for whatever reason, the blade wheels are shown as a dealer installed option. As such, the buyer ends up with a second set of wheels. Great if one is going to track the car.

Congratulations Mike !!!!! Stunning.
I too am curious about the reason they ship your new wheels separate and then need to be swapped out... Seems crazy to me.
3 in a row for you with Laguna Blue...... my favorite too. I'll have to check it out with the blue interior. Hope to see more pics when the sun comes back out again.

Congratulations on your new Vette.
I would be interested to find out why GM makes you buy two sets of different wheels when you obviously want the specific ordered set. I would think you could find the reason GM does that.
