Default 2015 key fob reprogram

So I looked through the threads and found one that was having the same issues but never seemed to get answered and went a much different direction by the end of the thread. So here's the deal I have acquired a new key fob (spare one) for my 2015. I have attempted, per the manual (2-6), multiple times to program the new fob using a recognized transmitter. Each time I get to step 9, pressing the ENGINE START/STOP button with the new transmitter in the steering column pocket, the DIC never displays READY FOR REMOTE #4 or 5. The DIC continues to display step 7, READY FOR REMOTE #3 or 4 and then times out. I don't want to use the procedure for programming without a recognized transmitter because this procedure will wipe the program in my only good transmitter. has anyone else had this issue and figured out what's wrong? I've opened up both fobs, all of the numbers inside are the same, and the buttons are the same on both. Thanks and Appreciate your help.

Pressing the Start/Stop for 12 secs exits the programming.

Try this step by step. Since you are only adding a FOB, your steps will be 6, 7, 5 in that order. Read the instructions carefully especially pressing the Unlock button on the FOB at the end.

That's exactly how I did it it per the manual, except i didn't see that it had to be in reverse. When I get home I'll give that a shot.

Tried the instructions, had it in reverse also. Still the same outcome.

I WAS successful in programing a new 2015 remote I purchased. I like you, got stumped with the programming and during one of my programing attempts, my car just died. It was like the battery died, it would not start. Nothing worked on my dash. My trunk release button, by the license plate did work and after accidentally holding the button in for about 10-15 seconds, everything started working, including my new remote. Go figure. Sorry I can't help you because I don't know how I did it.
