My order was placed 10 or so days ago and I'm at 2000 now - is that odd considering no Z06 allocations?

That does seem odd, mine was placed around the same timeframe and there's been no movement on it.

I ordered my car from a big dealer two weeks ago and assumed my order would be accepted by GM right away. Bad assumption. I waited too long to order. Should have placed my order in February.

Man, if there are no Z06 allocations for just two more weeks, I won't be getting a Shark Gray car.

That would suck. I am glad i jumped on a Laguna Blue Z06. Another dealer was telling no problem - can order. Who knows - might want to start looking for one on the many lots around the US. Airline tickets are cheap and you can break it in on the way home.

Not many dealers will do 10% off MSRP and the odds of finding just the car I want at 10% off is even more remote. There will be a gray to replace Shark Gray. As long as it's not too much darker, I'd be fine with it.
