No. It just came with 3 boxes of wires and two modules. So much for plug and play. I did reach out to “technical support “ via phone and they told me to email technical support and they’d email instructions. They did send them but there is no reference to the wireless module or one one the harnesses.

Seems like we both would need help with that set-up. I hope the email gives a wiring diagram.

So I spoke with the guy at Navtool and they don’t provide any install guide for the wireless. When pressed about the lack of plug and play he actually said some people think it will just be plug and play but you still have to have testing tools and wire it in. Well gee why would I think it is plug and play, it’s not like the websitet advertises it as PLUG AND PLAY...OH wait yea, they do.

My options now are take it to a shop and hope someone there can figure it out, pay a 25% restocking fee and send it back, or eBay it.

Man, I wish I would have never gone down the Navtool path. As they say buyer beware. I would never do business with these guys again!

any way, rant over. Off enjoy my Z as it is. I’ll just continue to be careful pulling up to the curbs.

Well that sucks. What I have works. I don't know diddly squat about the wireless hook up.

Well...The Navtool 5.0 arrived today. Of course no instructions. However it seems very similar to the Navtool 3.0. I was told when I ordered it that the wiring harness for 5.0 is different than 3.0 and will need to be swapped out. I am hoping some of the connections are the same. They look like they are...we will see. I am planning on installing this weekend. I have to connect it to the Navtool updater first and then I should be ready to go.

So what is the difference between the 3.0 and the 5.0?

From what I can see.....all new on screen interface and the ability to add carplay!!! Without having to change out the factory radio and nav modules. With Waze being added to car play later this year, it seems like the perfect solution. We will see.

Quick update. I installed the Navtool 5.0 on my 15 Z51 tonight. I had the Navtool 3.0 before. Here is a quick rundown for now and I will post a more in depth installation post.

1. Suffice It to say you basically have to remove the existing wiring harnesses and run the new ones because they are different and there is one additional harness on the HMI. It still is a pain in the butt but took a lot less time than the first time I did it.

2. The new touch screen interface is awesome and camera selection is much more streamlined than the previous Navtool.

3. CarPlay Works!! You have to run a microphone for Siri and an audio cable (not included) to the aux input for sound, but it works! And it has no side effects like swapping '16 HMI and radio module. Very happy about this.

4. It is very important to use their new online update tool to update and program the device before installing.

I took pictures of the install and I will post more in the next day or so.

Thanks

This is awesome! Can you provide more details on number 3 regarding the mic and audio cable needed? So I can install this in my 14’ and have Carplay now?! Sounds like I need to sell my Navtool 3 and buy a Navtool 5..

The microphone comes with the Navtool 5.0...I have not run it yet..but I will probably snake the wire so it is hidden and have it pop out of the headliner and clip on the visor...there might be a better location once I start that process.

You will need a RCA (left and right) plug to 1/8" stereo cable (6ft) that needs to be run from the navtool unit to the AUX input which is located in the center console....it is next to a USB jack.

Can you confirm you had to disable Bluetooth audio on your phone in order for the Carplay audio to work?

If that be the case, I think my 3.0 is adequate for my needs.

I paid 549.00 for mine...I called them direct and told them I was a Corvette Forum member....I am hoping to sell my Navtool 3.0 for 200.00..so net 349.00 for Carplay and better interface was worth it to me..
