Just got my navtool in the mail today
Hey guys just got my navtool today I’m at work reading up on it and it seems to be pretty easy but we will see, also I think I’m going to put some side view cams under both side mirrors so if it works I will post some pictures.

Ok so tonight I finally hooked up an HDMI cable to my Navtool 3.0 and successfully mirrored my iphone to the screen. Though I cannot seem to get any audio to play through the system at all. What am i missing here? I tried with and without bluetooth disabled and nothing. Can we not get audio through the HDMI cable on the 3.0 units?

I found this deep in this thread and here's a copy and paste.
There are 5 RCA plugs They are grouped 3 into a black connector and 2 into a black connector.
The Group of three is labeled thus:
Video input 1 = Front Camera
Video input 2 = Left Side Camera
Video output = Right Side Camera
The Group of two is labeled thus:
Video Input 1 = Audio red
Video Input 2 = Audio black
The group of 2 audio is used in connection with an AUX jack and one of these: http://www.discountcarstereo.com/ima...2.5-RCA3_m.jpg
If you don't have an AUX jack, you can do blue tooth audio streaming.

I personally don't use audio on the NAV tool.

I am about to pull the trigger on this! When I go to the NAVTOOL sight all I see for options is either a 3.0 or 4.0. What gives? Is the 5.0 a software upgrade? Also, really would like to hear about the front camera mount.
Its 4 am here so may need to get my are up and look but I added a Z06 from grill that is supposed to have spots for 2 cameras, wonder what to get to just bolt up as I am really not looking to remove the front bumper again and grill just to drill several holes. Also, I run with no plate on the front so using that is a non starter location. Maybe slung low on the front spoiler?
Also, from above on the touch screen I saw some videos where CarPlay was touch screen on our displays.
My main reason to get this is the front camera and may seem a bit strange to some but I want my Escort live to post to the screen (I hear right now I can mirror and Escort is working on a CarPlay app for seamless interface. Way cool!

OK, first, The NAVtool is designed for our Corvettes that do not have a front camera. Navtool uses 1 front camera not 2. My 14 has a Z06 grill w/o ANY camera mounts. I drilled holes to install the front single camera in the middle of my grill. I drilled my holes with the grill on the car.
You should have gotten the grill without OEM camera mounts. Those are for Corvettes that have OEM front cameras.

Navtool 5.0
Well I just added some cams to the 14 I got my navtool on Monday and just had a chance to fool with it today but I’m still not done just a update with some pi
I ran the wires through this hole from the inside under the hood right behind the grill.
Pulled the wire with a long screwdriver and a hook pin from harbor freight
Hook tool
I didn’t drill a hole just bought some cams with 3m tape on the backside which made it so easy and quick will see how long they hold before I have to drill it.
Shrinking tape so the connection won’t get wet.
Put the cam under the left side mirror
I hit the left turn signal and boom
Looking good so far

That plug was down under the piece you see. Under the p/n 13590### is another box and THAT is where the grey plug comes from. You will then hook the harness into the plug hole you emptied and the connect the plug shown to the Navtool harness.

I just purchased the NAVTool 5.0 with CarPlay and am pretty confused with the installation process due to the various versions and upgrades over this thread that is criss crossing various versions. The camera installation has not changed from year to year and is straight forward but the rest is confusing as the wiring bundles have been modified. What I know to Install;
1. The Interface box has 3 inputs
a. The cars HMI unit has 2 plugs removed;
1. The blue connector (which is for video) disconnects and is replaced with the supplied blue/grey connector/wire assembly which intern is connected to the NavTool Interface module.
2. The removed blue connector from what was hooked up to the HMI is now attached to a second cable provided by NavTool and routed to the NavTool Interface module.
Shown are the 2 cables on the left used for this interface (first picture) which in the second picture are for the connector on the left.
On the right hand side of the HMI unit is the second connector to be removed. The below supplied 16pin wire harness is installed between the HMI unit and the second connector unplugged from the HMI.
The spinoff 16pin wire assembly attaches to the bundled harness. The large connector plugs into the NavTool Interface box.
OK, now is a bit of no mans land as the sent directions from NAVTOOL do not talk about this harness!
From what I see with remaining connections is that this harness is the one connected into the module on the passengers side under the front carpet? The
long yellow wire must travel back to the drivers side and connect into the large harness.
I would like to know before tearing in and routing wires thru the center console.
So, from what I have is only one yellow wire to route from the passenger side to the drivers side.
Since my front camera has one line setup for power and the other for video I should have the option of bringing in the video line in on the drivers side or the passenger side and
if there are no issues running the cable it would seen best to run it directly to the drivers side.
Discovered what the 6 wire connector coming off the main harness is for (MIC)
My last hookup should be running the HDMI cable to the center console where it connected with the apple connector and the marries up to the Phone.
Putting this all down has assisted me in figuring out the install. The only connections I don't seem to know (or need) are 2 audio input lines (or are they connected up somewhere? Guess I
will fumble thru the 40 some pages for the answer. Thinking its for a audio input from another source.
I can say NAVTOOL has got some pretty good technical people to figure out the connections and interface for all different cars, but there idea of instructions is far from good. A diagram would of helped along with addressing all the connections required. If it had not been for this forum, I would of been lost on the connections for the passenger side. While i am at it, I checked their installation video for the corvette LMAO! Using a completely different car to explain how to install was a waste of my time. One online video from a forum member was beneficial for the front camera install and somewhat helpful on the passenger side connections (too bad it wasn't a bit more detailed - but it was appreciated). Maybe I am just getting old but there should be some sort of break points in the thread or the different version and revisions. As the first thing that made me confused was talk of a 16pin green harness for the passenger side. My box when opened - NOT it is a 16 pin brown harness. It looks to me at this point I have one single yellow wire to route from one side to the other.
Ok, maybe I have it all figured out.
Oh, also bothered a bit as the box says don't start before thoughrly reading the manual (there was no manual). Setting up the updater software seems easy (will find out as either I have the latest software or got a problem, rest of setup no issues.
Well we will see! Start install tomorrow!
