It's a A8 if I have the car in park and grab the rear tire I can rock the car back and forth a lot. Mechanic said it does seem to have more play then normal and if I'm not happy will order another differential. What a fiasco GM vendors can't make a differential that is quite and tight, I hate to have it torn apart again but I'm not going to live with a clunky $100,000 car.
This is crazy and pathetic. I agree with you. A clunky rear end is not satisfactory. I would demand another one.

Default Fix it

GunRun,

Get it fixed brother. I saw my new diff yesterday it comes a completely assembled unit, gears inside, already set to factory specs. I have a friend who is a Corvette mechanic who says it would take 2-3 hours to swap out.

I had a 2013 Mustang GT before this 2016 Corvette and it had to have a new DIFF at about 10K miles. Now it didn't take an act of Congress like we are going through to get it fixed, but Shiz happens.

The Corvette is by far the best American sports car on the market. Together we can force GM to fix this issue and go on enjoying our cars and dominating the stop light races.

If they don't do what is right, I will lemon law the car and buy another manufacturer. The outcome will be based on what GM does. Hopefully they learned from the $4.1 billion they spent on ignition switches that up front HONESTY is the best policy.

Default Waiting

Like I said I am now waiting to see what GM tells the tech . I am sure it will be bullshit. The liason emailed me today and said she is still waiting on what the dealership says.

I got my car back today and drove it around 50 miles. It's high 60s here in Bama. It has no noise in it right now. I will continue to observe and let everyone know how it plays out. Right now the hot rod I saved for is BACK!

Default Does PMing customer Service Help

I PMed customer Service Eddie A. on 2/11/17, who was asking us who still had this problem.
I gave him the information he requested.
I Have yet to hear back anything from him, even an acknowledgement that he received my PM.
Does this sound familiar?

Very familiar. I have never heard back from any of these "customer service" people.

You probably scared him brother.

I started the process today with an introduction, and a readers digest version of what's going on with the car. I told him when I get a bit more info. I would be back. So, into the lion's den I go.

I've had this issue for a good while , been waiting on a fix to come out . Just not sure what direction to head . A couple months ago I had the torque converter changed and the GM service Mgr said he could not hear the warble and in not so many words refused to take a ride with me so I could point out the noise , since then I've moved over to South Mississippi and need to find a good GM service dept. that has a good history on working on vettes . I'm definitely ready to rid the warble. Any one in the fourm know of any dealer in South West Mississippi that has a good GM service dept? Thanks in advance .

CJ, I know this is a long running thread with a ton of post, but if you haven't already do a scan from around page 40 forward. There's some good info. since GM bought back Richard's car for a dissection. Looks as if it may be the ring gear/pinion causing the problem. At least we hope it is so we can start the process. I hope you find a good dealer. You may want to try the "Regional" section of the forum for help on finding a dealer.

On 2/10/16 I decided that I would go as far as I could at the local level and went in to see the GENERAL MANGER at my dealership.
Great Guy, Somebody you can talk to.
As a customer/Money oriented person he seemed interested in the problem.
Said he'd get back by 2/15/17.
He called me this morning, telling me GM decided to replace my differential. It would be in 5 days. So, I'm very happy, and if this doesn't fix it, shows admission to the problem.
I can't believe I had to put up with this for a year.
Let's see what happens.

That is very good news to hear. It sounds like we have turned the corner and GM is trying to make this right.

Thanks to the founding warblers BJones, Strake, and HighPlains for keeping this in the public eye for the last year +.

I always felt like GM might do the right thing if enough of us complained and it was a big enough problem. I wish they would act in a more timely manner but _ _ _. Keep pushing the rope guys until they fix your cars. Dropping 60+ K on a toy is a lot of jack to have issues like the Warble. I hope the snow ball has gotten big enough by now that they will step up in a big way and take care of all you guys with this problem. Good luck
