Like you Bruce I think they will also. That's why I'm trying to remain claim. GM is like a huge tanker ship. You move the helm, and wait quite awhile for the ship to answer. We'll get there as long as we keep steering the ship.

Well I'm joining the "Warblers". My car is now warbling. Exact same sound as Strake's video. What is the best approach to getting a new diff? Should I ask my local dealer to get up to speed by calling GM? If yes, who should they call? Thanks

Colonel, I just started by talking with my service writer, and advised of what I know up to this point. I told him I would return when I get a bit more info. What I'm really going to do is when I return from a little trip is take it in, and have a little ride-along. Then start pushing from there. Calling GM has been an effort in futility, because I haven't talked with the same person twice. Good luck.

BTW, I will probably sit down with them before we take the car out, and let him see/hear some of the videos on this thread if he will agree.

When was your car made and is it a Base C7 or is it Z51 OR Z06 ?

Thanks.......trying to figure what models/years are affected.

Base A8 Stingray, 2016, built last week of June 2015 so a very early build. 9K miles when I first heard the warble. Happens at 1500 RPMs when lightly accelerating.

Randall,

Hope you didn't "catch" the Warble from visiting us a few months ago...

Sorry to hear you are now affected. I'd suggest you go back to the dealership that did your extensive torque tube and fuel tank issues. Seems like you had a decent relationship with them. I'd let them know that you are keenly aware of hundreds of fellow C7, A8 Stingray owners with the same issue and that GM Tech support is well aware of this. Let them know about GM buying my car back to use for root cause analysis, and that you are recently seeing several folks getting a new differential as you understand that the ring and pinion may have not been built correctly. I'd fill them in on what you know, and give them a link to this thread and show them my YouTube video/audio clip. May as well start near the end of the thread and work backwards. Tell them to contact Corvette Quality Mgr for specifics if GM Tech support can't seem to recall the issue. If you still have my phone # give me a call if I can point you in the right direction.

I ageee with Richard and if you don't get results after a reasonable amount of time start up the chain, dealership general manager, customer support, and CEO if need be. You can use my case as well, bought my car back under lemon law. Good luck and be persistent, don't give up. Good luck.

Just caught up on this thread after a long time, surprised there isn't a TSB yet

My issue sounds more like the one S'vette posted:

Which is probably an exhaust leak, I probably need to get under it and look for carbon, but if base A8's have a differential issue it would be nice to get a TSB posted about it so I can take it in

I had a nice discussion with the Service Manager at my local Chevy dealer about the warble issue. He was unaware but very willing to research it. He did ask if I had anything in writing from GM. Other than the CF thread, does anyone have anything in writing from GM where they recognize the issue and recommend a resolution? I know I have read that a TSB is expected but could anyone share anything that you might have that I could share with my dealer? Thank you.

I don't think anyone has ever gotten anything in writing acknowledging this problem or a fix from GM and probably never will. Most of us who have been chasing this problem from day one know that GM, tech. support, and customer support are definitely aware of this problem. Hopefully your service manager is a good one and can contact the appropriate mentioned folks and validate the warble. Good luck.

Default warble gone

Took car in morning of 2/23/17, they replaced the differential, got it back first thing this morning.
No more warble, only drove it about 10 miles .

Heard a faint sound around 1500 rpm when it was cold, but nothing like the dreaded "warble".

I'll keep the thread posted, as I put on miles .

I took mine in 22 February got it back after they change the differential and no more warble only drove 20 miles home from the dealership. I will have to put more miles on it, but the new differential seems to be the fix.

I got a call from someone at GM who left a message saying he was in the "Executive Office". He left a phone number and a case number. My dealer has never heard of this issue so I am hoping the folks from GM can educate them before I take it in for diagnosis. At this point in time the noise is not very loud and I am tempted to wait it out until hopefully a TSB is issued and the parts are readily available. When my TC and fuel pump were replaced the car sat on a lift for a couple weeks waiting on authorization and parts. I am finding it hard to reproduce the sound so I am tempted to wait and see if gets louder. Have you other warblers found that the noise gets louder and more frequent with more miles? My lemon law opportunity in MD expires at 24 months which will be in July of this year. Advice? Thanks.

When they opened up my old differential the dealer found Metal filings in it and said that there's definitely something wearing in there

Which dealer and have they replaced others or were you the first? How many miles on your car?

Take it in, the more cars are reported with this issue is proof there is a problem. Don't want to offend but don't wait for others to do the heavy lifting in hopes for a TSB, take it in and push for a fix. Highplaines suggested his got worse with miles and so did mine. If it's the ring and pinio it will only get worse. If GM approves you for a new differential you want have to take your car in until the diff. is in so limited wait time for repair. Good luck

Hot damn another one repaired, we may just be on to something here. Makes me happy, happy, happy. This will give me a bit more ammo when I take mine in next month. Thanks for the info., and please keep us updated.
