No issues with mine.... OD shifts are taking some time to get used to...
7 to 6 sometimes miss and goes to 4 but rev match revs up and gear indicator on the HUD shows 4, so i correct before letting the clutch out.

noticed a slight possible gear oil leak when parked on an incline, will get it checked at the 500 KM oil change...

No issues with mine - shifts smoothly. The 1-4 can be annoying, but a $20 bypass fixes that.

21,000 still like to pop out first, liked the 6 M in my C6 better. Overall it has been fine.

Easiest way to avoid any 7 to 6 shift issue is to trust the reverse lock-out (and you should trust it, it is basically impossible to go there mechanically), and as you're pulling the shifter back toward 6th, keep a rightward pressure on the shifter handle. It'll go right to 6th every time.

None. Occasionally, I get the 1-4 shift message but I can live with that.

Not the smoothest shifter but it gets the job done.

Best standard that I've ever owned... tight shifting, smooth clutch, and hill assist makes it feel like it's cheating.

Good advice. I have had times when it goes from 7th to 4th. I will now use the technique you described.

Zero problems, cold 1-2 shift but that's it. Usually within 3-4 blocks its OK.

24K miles total. 1/2 stock, 1/2 supercharged.

As far as reliability goes, the m7 is a great tranny for this car. If you want the best performance out of the vehicle, then the a8 is the way to go
There is a bulletin for mushy shifts/popping out of gear. Just had it done to my car and it helped a lot.

There is more to performance than 0-60 times. The A8 can't be reliably tracked with a fast driver without heat issues. Even though my M7 will top 300 degrees, it's still working while lapping a track. The A8's heat issues are well documented.

No problems here. The shift from 6 to 7 still doesn't seem natural, though. It seems like the highest gear should be down not up, I guess.

That is a stretch IMO. Have you owned many manuals?

I'm not saying our manual is bad but

1-2 shifting is not smooth
2nd can pop out if your not careful
7th gear can be hard to find and is really not even needed

That is not normal. That has never happened to me and a lot of forum members. It might be a simple adjustment.

I've owned quite a few, and would say the C7 is 2nd only to the 2002 Honda S2000 I had a while back.

Agreed, sounds like the shifter is in need of adjustment, which the dealership can do under warranty, or can be done as a simple DIY at-home procedure.

As a matter a fact- most every car that I've ever own has had a manual transmission. Most recently were a couple GT500s, with Tremec TR-6060s and dual clutch assemblies. The slippage and chatter alone would drive you crazy... and then Ford telling you it's "normal" was the icing on the cake.

Don't get me wrong, they were great cars, but yes, my description of the M7 was accurate.
