Default Best of Both Worlds?

I was just wondering there are others that are C7 that own Volts as well. If so, as a owner do you see the Volt and the C7 as being the best of both worlds?

You drive them completely differently but, they are both enjoyable in my opinion.

In my case, I use the Volt for my commute and a grocery getter.
Electric only during the week.

Then, on the weekend I drive the Stingray unless I head to the Lumber Store. That of course gets Turbo Diesel duty.

I feel very fortunate to own a 40mpg / Electric, a 30mpg Supercar and a Truck.*

The Volt and Vette are both high tech and very advanced in my opinion and stroke my techie side too. Being in electronics for over 40 years I am impressed with these cars.

*Some day, they will actually build for the public; a vehicle that you can switch bodies and change suspension on for your needs.

No, no, no. U only live once and who knows what tomorrow brings. Sell the Volt and drive the Vette everyday. What are u saving it for. It is meant to be enjoyed. I live in NY and even with the winters it's m DD. I did drive a Volt and thought it had descent pickup for what it is. My wife ended up with a Hyundai plugin. That is her DD.

No, if you have the money, the best way is a top of the line Tesla to add to your garage with the C7. Neck snapping power and zero emissions although the government saying that is BS, power plants to feed the grid to recharge the Tesla do create emissions. Don

the best of both worlds is a vette and a truck. The best of 3 worlds is a vette, a truck and a Harley. 4 worlds? You guessed it ,a boat. And don't forget the pilots here!!

Well, unfortunately I do not want my Vette all chipped up at grocery store and work.

Just last month, someone backed into my Firebird in a parking lot and drove off. They left the whole front bumper covered, I mean covered with the white paint from their car. I wasn't able to buff it all out. About six months ago someone left a nice dent in my Firebird from their door. I wish I was driving my Volt.

They hit is so hard that it creased the panel so it will have to be repainted not dent extracted. $750. Still hasn't made it to the shop yet. I feel sick every time I see the dent.

So hence the Volt, doesn't seem like anyone messes with it. Plus I save about $200 a month in gas. I have had a Volt for four years now. The lease payment is about the gas savings. If I travel a lot that month it saves me even more and I get mileage $ from the company. More = Company road trip. As much as I like Tesla it will not do this for me.

If you own a Volt and a Vette, I would like to hear how you feel about them.

Thank you for your responses...

I am very grateful on all those counts too. Only place we differ is I chose a dual sport verses a Harley. Man, I love to fly !!!

Well I will have to say, I do take the Vette on evening fun runs during the week. This happens after work and that allow me to get it up to speed with the Vette. Just seems like a waste sitting in traffic with such a nice car. Plus every ten feet you have to return the thumbs up.

A Mercedes S class for my DD and my C7 for my pleasure rides would be the best of both worlds if I could afford it. Unfortunately money comes into play so my DD is a Subaru Impreza.

It all depends where you live. In NY we have some of the highest electrical rates in the country so a Plugin costs as much or more to run than a conventional car. The irony is that we paid a lot more for a plugin because it got my wife into the commuter's lane. We could have gotten a hybrid or conventional Sonata for a lot less. I also understand the hesitation to take the car into parking lots. Some places have nice wide spots and I don't mind going to those places while other places have tiny spots. Overall I do drive my car as much as possible. I try not to worry about any scratches, etc. That is hard for me to do since I like to keep my stuff in pristine condition.

^ Going to go with never driven one. A volt in regen mode (aka L) and sport mode is an absolute blast to drive below 40mph. Truly one of the best cars GM has built in the past decade and the Gen 2 is quicker and better.

I would leaše a Tesla however, most of my business trips exceed 200 miles.

Ah, if only they had a on-board generator like the Volt. :-[

My trips are 400 miles to LA and sometimes back in the same day. Tesla would never work but Volt does well on those days getting 42mpg.

Might be trading my 2015 for 2017 Volt soon.

That is the nice thing about $200 a month leases..

What I like about the Volt is plenty in traffic. If you put it in low range it is like a golf cart. More regen so u are always poised on the go pedal to get those holes in traffic.
