If you read those threads, you'd know that was this rear tire that rubbed through the liner, the taller rears:

Obviously, I'm not talking about taking it through feet of snow. This is for when the temperature's below 40-45F and for light snow on the roads in the passes around the Pacific Northwest. "Summer car"

How about letting people do what they want with their car? I'm sure the guys driving a Z06/Z07 through the winters are having way more fun driving it year round than leaving it in the garage through a third of the year or more.

EDIT: Also note, the Pirelli Sottozero 3 in 275 - 35 - 19 do fit on the front wheels without rubbing the liner. Pirelli apparently gets a hissy fit if you tell them you might mix the 3 series and 2 series Sottozero.

The Michelin engineer at the Bash said the AS ZP tires would NOT be available in the GS/Z06 sizes. Sorry.

I just got back from the Bash and was told the exact opposite.

They told me that the A/S 3+ would be available on October 1st in Z06/ZR1 sizes.

Maybe he means the ZP (runflat IIRC) variants not being available in those sizes.

Per some Z06 owners and Luke from Tirerack (anybody know where he disappeared to, can't get him on PM or email?) these will work for winter tires. Though they're not the exact OEM sizes, they'll fit without rubbing. Pirelli Sottozeros (305/30R20XL Series 3 in rear and 295/30R19XL Series II in front)

Edit: OP, I was suggesting that you might want to look for these sizes if you absolutely must put all-seasons on your wheels.

^^^^ Yep 1 member ran them and rubbed some holes in the fender liner.

A joke of a tire for a SUMMER car. Kills me when people buy a Z06 and add some good old studded tires for the winter action.

That's why you should have a 4 wheel drive GMC Sierra or something in the waiting for those ice and snow days.\\

Nothing is more funny than to see a Corvette owner out strutting there stuff in a snow storm.

If I can't find some snow tires soon it will force me to get another car!

Too hilarious!

Totally agree with graj6 , the point is not suiting the vette for winter driving but enjoying it in spring and fall or whenever the temps drop below 45. I drove with the summer tires from NYC to California in august and I tell you, at night in one of those Montana mountain passes i got a light snow drizzle. Going downhill with them summer only tires on those winding hairpins will scare you alright. I had to put the flashers and trucks were passing me at 90 mph plus speeds and spraying me with the sleet. Not fun. All weather tires are the way to go if you roadtrip.

I just put the non-ZP A/S 3+ on my car. 19 frt /20 rear. I would have liked to have gotten the ZP but they weren't available. I figure it adds at least a month on each end of the cold weather driving here in MI and I'm obviously not going to slosh it through the snow and salt. I have noticed a "little" reduction in hard acceleration under WOT that can be easily dealt with; it's not like it sneaks up on you and throws the rear end sideways unexpectedly. Ninety-nine point nine percent of the time I'm just driving to work in traffic, so unlike the track guys I'm very happy with A/S tires and another couple months of driving. I still pretty easily smoked a kid in his Mustang GT on a Mexican road near by; but in all honesty I did "pass" on the Hellcat Challenger that wanted to do a 60 roll - no need to embarrass yourself on purpose

I asked Michelin via email and got these responses.

1st email:

Hello Elmer,
Regarding your email stating:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have heard rumors of you folks to produce an A/S run flat tire for the Corvette 19/20" tire size for the Corvette. We first heard late 2015, then summer 2016. Are there ANY plans to produce the A/S tire in a Zero pressure option sized P245/35ZR19 and P285/30ZR20 and if yes, when?

Thanks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We do have a plan to offer an All Season tire in both of these sizes as well as being a run flat called the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+.
Our projected release dates for both sizes are October of this year (2016). We don't have a specific date it will be released but keep in mind that this date is a projected one. The actual date would be subject to change in either direction.
To see details on this remarkable All Season Run Flat tire click http://www.michelinman.com/US/en/tir...-s-3-plus.html.
We hope that your issue has been resolved or addressed to your satisfaction. If we can assist you further, please respond to this email or call us at 866-866-6605 (toll-free) between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. EST Monday through Friday or between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. EST on Saturday.
We appreciate your business and thank you for choosing Michelin.
Sincerely,

2nd email:

Hello Elmer,
As stated in the previous email, we do plan to launch the A/S 3+ tire in both of the listed sizes and both in ZP or Run Flat in October 2016. The link was sent as a generic one so you could see details about the tire mentioned because the new ZP sizes will not be listed on the site as available until their release later this year.
In short, we are planning to launch the Pilot A/S 3+ in both 245/35ZR19 ZP and 285/30ZR20 ZP in October 2016.
Sincerely,
Jon

I believe that Harvey asked about run flat A/S tires for the Z06/GS, not the Z51(the size tires you emailed Michelin about).

All I see in this thread are sizes for 19/20" wheels that are ZP. What'd I miss?

OK, did that. Still no help. Since I don't own a GS nor a Z06 with the Z07 option, what tire size are we talking about? 20/21". If so, might this thread be better well served in the Z06 forum that has larger sized wheels than us poor folks with the C7 Stingray?
