Default Who has not installed a clear bra?

Just seeing how many here have not installed some type of clear bra and how is the car looking? Do you regret not getting it done?

Not on my last 3 daily driver Vettes. Drove the C5 for six years and the C6 for nine. Had the C7 for a year. No regrets.

None for me. Two years and a few minor rock dings but it's a car that I drive.

I installed Expel on my car and am glad I did.

I got back from my second track event a couple of weekends ago and found the Expel I had added below the brake duct was gouged and scratched from something that flew off the front wheel and hit it. I will probably have to have that section replaced (10 year warranty). It doesn't look it penetrated the Expel so the paint is still probably in good shape but without the Expel I would have had some visible damage to the paint in that area.

I don't think it's worth the expense.

No film shield of any brand on the front, or anywhere else on the C7's paint surface except what came from the factory.

Paint surfaces and hood remain in pristine condition after 16 months of ownership.

Glad I did not waste my money on buying any kind of film shield. I own 3 premium sports cars and do not have film shield on any of them. All are in pristine condition without it.

I had it on my C6 and it saved me from a bad ding, but after I took it off, I never replaced it and had no problems.
I installed it on my C7 and will probably go the same route. Nothing looks as good as the bare paint.

Nothing on mine and and front end is still perfect, even after two long road trips and 10k miles.

This is good to know. I ordered my yellow convertible and dealer will want to try and sell me expel front coverage for $2000.

I have XPEL on the entire front including headlights, hood, fenders and rockers. - it buys me peace of mind. I don't fault those that choose not to - it is expensive and some prefer bare paint.
If you did decide to get XPEL, don't get it through your dealer. Eliminate the middle man and find a local certified XPEL installer in your area.

No clear film for me. Bad experience on a BMW. I'll live with the inevitable chips as they happen. Life is too short to worry about little things. I do use a Novistretch on roadtrips for bugs but not on a daily basis.

If you don't track your car, I would pass.
If you track your car, its worth every single penny. One track weekend can destroy the front end more than 100K miles of casual driving.

That said, I only wrap cars I track.

I considered it when I bought my 15 but quickly decided against it. The film was very noticeable to me. I also went to visit one shop that I watched trim the film around the tail lights of a Porsche GT3. I was horrified. They cut into the paint.

My car is black and black is an easy paint match. I'd rather paint my bumper every 5 years than have someone cutting into my paint.

Cost was high too. 2k for the essential areas, 3k for the essentials plus the full hood and fenders. 5200 was the best price I hot to do the whole car.

I decided not to spend the money and take a chance. Also, I didn't like the look of a black car in a condom.

Basically concur with c7-beast. I have a black '16 and wanted it to shine as much as possible. Decided to go bare back, so to speak. I went with cquartz finest ($1k). The $$ to do even part of my car with expel was surprisingly high. Expel + cquartz was out of the question. So far so good, but only about 1300 miles.

I've had it on my last two cars. IMO I would get it if you can afford it. It will save you from paint dings.

Have you ever seen a C7R after a real race?

Let's be honest, most of our cars on this forum never see that kind of action. Some guys love protecting every bit of the car ( hence why they sell protectors for almost anything including the door sills.....

I drive mine as much as I can and I enjoy it. If I was so paranoid about ever little nick it might get, I'd drive myself crazy. But to each his own. That's just my opinion.

It's expensive but what drove me to do it was looking at used C7s with 3k-4k miles on them. They looked like a teenage pizza face.

We love roadtripping. Our last outing was 5k miles over 16 days.
