Who is using PowerStop Z26 brake pads?

I have the powerstops and like them. Will buy them again for the low dust. However I'm not bias to one product or the next, I'll tell it like I see it.
I said before I bought the 1521 carbo's and from day one they made so much noise it was ridiculous. Tried the powerstops. Installed them the same, didn't do anything different. No noise and little to no dust, easy to clean.
However someone in this topic awhile ago reviewed them for track use. I can tell you right now these are not for track use and I would highly suggest using a different pad for high speed runs or tracking. I'm confused as to how he could come to believe these stopped just as good as the stock brembo z51 pads??
I was roll racing the other day and during speeds of 125-150 mph these pads are HORRIBLE for braking. I'm not trying to take anything from these pads as they are great for low dust and sold as that, low dust pads.
For track I would go back to carbotech or hawks track pad or for high speeds at least the stock pads.

I see no issues using the Power Stops Z26 for street use, but can't see how folks would use them for track use.

CDH,
Thanks for the good, honest review.
I don't have any noise with the Carbotech 1521s. I had a little noise immediately after installation even though they supposedly don't require a bed-in procedure, but after a few hard stops it hasn't recurred in 3K miles.
I also agree that the OEM Brembos that came on my Z51 are without question more suited for track use, I also believe the stopping distances are shorter, but I can't prove it. I had no place around here to do stop tests and measurements. However, they do dust for a reason, and the Brembo pads will go back on for HPDE. Carbotech is very clear that the 1521s are NOT intended for track use.

Interesting, I don't have that at all anymore at any speed.

Because I order a set of the Carbotech an when I received them they did not look as well made as the OEM pads, so I opted for the Power Stop Z26 pads. In a side by side comparison between the Power Stop, Carbotech, and OEM pads for a Z51, the Z26 pads looked like they had been engineered better. I said in my post, I think the pads are better I didn't say they where better. If you remember correctly I called you and asked about the way the pads where manufactured because I didn't feel like the pads where made correctly and I was worried about noise as a lot of people attested too. So at the end of the day I sold the Carbotech pads and installed the Z26 pads.

^^^ Adam, as a forum supporting vendor and seller of the CarboTech pads, it might be cool if you posted photos comparing the two. You might gain more customers if you show the CarboTech pads to be worth the cost in comparison to the Power Stop pads.

Adam, I agree w/ Jag. I bought your product and am very happy with them. I did so largely because I'm a strong believer in "you get what you pay for," and the Powerstops are so incredibly damned cheap.
However, you need to find a better way to market why your product is better. Test data would be very nice to see.

I put the power stops on my Z51 at 3500 miles, currently at 7400. I rate that as the best thing I've done for my car and a huge time saver for me. I would clean the car and not want to drive it because my black wheels would look like crap after 50 miles. Got tired of cleaning the wheels every couple days yet the car was perfectly clean. I can't speak to how they fare on a track, but for street driving they're a no brainer. Best $130 and 1 hour I ever spent

After reading about the Z26's, I'm trying those and we shall see how they work. Unfortunately for my Focus, I need to get Z23's which are the same compound but no backing plate. The Z23's go on the Focus Saturday.

Just ordered a set for my Z. My gloss black forgestar CF10's should be here any day and I want to keep them clean. After every drive I have to wipe down my stock rims and im over that...

These pads are GREAT for the $$. I had CarboTech's on my M5 and my C6Z. They make such a crappy looking, noisy and just so-so performing pad for a sh*t-ton more $$. Makes zero sense to me from a street pad perspective why you'd buy Carbo's vs. Power Stop.

Several of us Autocross junkies in my club them on our C7 - Z51's.
Last season terrific results & goodbye dust.
Liked them so much I put a set on my Boss 302 Mustang that I run in SCCA Solo.

I put a set of the Z26's on our GS a few weeks ago. Due to our weather, I've only managed to put a couple hundred miles on so far....
Next to NO dust, no noise, and can't tell the difference in stopping power from the stock set of Brembo's that I took off.
GREAT choice

Still no complaints since putting them on last September. Not a single squeal or once of dust and the braking performance holds up even on mountain runs or 1/2 mile events.

I put them on a few weeks ago as well, hardly any dust! I think the Brembo's had an ever so slightly better initial bite, but I'm willing to sacrifice for no dust. Anyway, it's so easy to change the pads out, took me 30 min for all 4 corners with a Quicklift 3500 & Air Impact wrench.

Mine JUST ARRIVED! I am SOOOoooo Excited.... BUT, Amazon is late with my Jacking pucks I will have to wait 3 more days... SO sad, but at least I can look at my Z26 Powerstops sitting on the table waiting for my install!
