As hard as it was to wait since April 18 when I placed the order, it was that hard and more just waiting since this morning for the car to be delivered.

I am now officially kicking myself for not doing a museum delivery, due to the extra delay of shipping the car to the western US.

And it only gets better. Wait til you lay eyes on it.

And then drive it. . . . . . There are few cars on the planet as much fun as these things.

Congrats,

Not to hi-jack, but how long does it take once it leaves Kentucky to get to New York?

Not very long.
Congratulations to the OP! I've had mine about 14 months and every morning when I fire it up it is delivery day all over!

Hey Driver9, Our new Vette was built yesterday as well. Would anyone care to guess how long it will take to ship it to Denver? We can't wait to see it.

Not long at all, mine was finished on August 8th at the dealer in New Hampshire on 8/12 (MM) and I drove it back to NY on 8/20.

You'll have it soon! Enjoy it!

Today's confession:

"4B00 - Bayed"

Though MacMulkin interprets "4B00 - Bayed" as "Your Corvette is waiting to be loaded on to a carrier," this list of status codes posted elsewhere at Corvette Forum says it can either mean "vehicle is waiting on transportation" (congruent with MacMulkin's interpretation) or "pulled for quality control". Maybe it's just me, but there is at the very least a subtle but nerve-wracking difference between those two possibilities.

I am of the mind that if you can possibly help it, DO NOT order a Corvette.

Just buy one off the lot if you can.

The wait is dangeous.

Of course if you must have as close to what you want as Chevrolet will allow, you probably have no real alternative because dealers can be devilishly clever at concocting near misses when they order for their own stock.

As of now, it's not just my Corvette -- I am personally "4B00 - Bayed", as in "waiting on transportation."

Carry on fellow sufferers.

That's just what they tell you. 4B00 - Bayed actually means the plant manager caught a glimpse of your rig and told somebody he liked that one a lot, and to pull it around front, cuz he wants to go hoon around in it. . . .
