Good Morning Bettermost,
After bringing your Corvette in for the fixes a few weeks ago without avail, I can understand your frustrations. I would be more than willing to get into contact with your dealer to look into this concern further. If this would be of interest to you, please send us a private message with your VIN, full contact information, current mileage, and your involved dealer. I look forward to your response.
All the best,

I'm getting concerned about my car. The car was built in 8/14 as a '15. Just flipped 10k miles. All is well, so far, with no symptoms of TC problems. Holding my breath.

Melting Slicks
My symptoms are very mild with my 12/18/14 build compared to some. In 16 months of ownership I've had a couple of days when sporadic shuddering was noticed, one of which was the first day (Feb. 6, 2015) while driving back from the dealership (60 miles). One year later almost to the day I noticed it again for about 10 miles of highway miles, after which it disappeared and hasn't returned. I wonder if temperature is a factor, as it was about 55° both days.
I noticed tach oscillation of ±50 rpm on the second event, then about ±25 rpm the next day on the same route, but since then it has not recurred or is so small that I can't make it out. The shuddering and oscillation occur only in V4 mode, and I can't figure out how TC behavior relates to cylinder deactivation. On the last occurrence I could get rid of both by simply shifting to Manual, which would disable V4 mode.
Once in a while, maybe every month or two, I get a 1-2 sec. delay and firm engagement when shifting to Drive only for the first cold crank of the day.
Other than this I can't fault the A8's performance after a software update and "fast relearn" last Nov. Before that I got minor flaring on the first 1-2 shift of the day and some indecisive downshifting at WOT, but it is faultless now.
Tadge claims the TC issues do not affect durability, and if this is true I can live with the quirks I've experienced, even if they recur sporadically. Tearing the car apart as is necessary to do a TC swap would be a decision I would make only if it got much worse and impacted durability.

Sure hope a tranny reflash solves my shift issues. I haven't noticed any rpm fluctuations when cruising. Glad I bought the GMEPP.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been experiencing these unexpected shifting concerns with your Corvette. I understand how this may be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconveniences caused. If you decide to have this looked at by a dealer, please send a private message and I would be happy to assist in facilitating an appointment.
Best,

Leave it
After seeing those pictures I would sell the car as soon as it was HOPEFULLY fixed. Would never want it back after that horror. Shame on G M they should give you a new car after that total abortion..After all how many nuts and bolts will be left out after they TRY to put it back together. Most Chevy mechanics do not have the skill to do a job that big..My dealer got one in a couple of months ago that another dealer just could not complete correctly. Horror Show.

So far only one post of a -631 replacement that I have noticed with another -631. However the information in the post was not very detailed and it is possible the shop misdiagnosed the problem and changed out the TC when it could have been any number of drive line issues.

Here is what mine looked like 3 weeks ago. Drive line finally took out the crankshaft. This was the 3rd time the rear end was removed.

HOLY SH-T ! There Should be a class action suit for GM to buy back every dam automatic they sold or extend the warranty to ten years. If not Corvette executives should be libel for criminal prosecution.

Glad I only had the triple-flush done on my 8/16 build date 2017 GS.
I’m really considering just trading it in for an M4 after keeping track of all of these TC problems.
