Really mad the Grand Sport came out
So who else is furious the grand sport came out? My 2016 z51 sticker was 63k. The grand sport is 66k. No way can I add the wide body.wheels. wing and everything else its has to my car for 3k. Now i have to deal with taking a huge loss on my car. Still im sure it would be less than adding all that stuff onto my z51 tho. I had no clue in January the grand sport was coming out when i bought my z51. They should have never made it and i could be content.

At least you have a new Corvette. Congratulations to you. I dream every day about owning a car like yours.

It does seem a bit odd that there's now the Base Stingray, Z51, Grand Sport, and Z06 with talks of a ZR1 being added in 2017.
I personally think the Grand Sport takes way too many parts from the Z06 - it undercuts it by quite a bit while only really lacking the supercharger from what I understand.
The Z06 now seems a bit niche for those who crave that brutal acceleration, since you can now get the wide body, bigger wheels and mag ride standard on the GS

^^^ In reality you buy a GS for 66k and then buy a $5400 ECS supercharger ( I dont want the supercharger ). In any event I would really like a GS. I just did the kelly blue book on my Z51 and its not bad at all. Im going to make an for sale add.

The GS is a bargain and will sell really well. Your car is still great. There's always something better and more expensive on the horizon. You really shouldn't be unhappy you're driving a C7.

Wow really don't see what you guys are complaining about. Chevy has done this with each generation of Corvette since the C3. I mean if you looked into corvettes at all before you bought you would have to know that this happens all the time

I here you. Im thank full i even have this. Its just annoying That I always said i love the style of the Z06 but I would like it without the supercharger. Then i buy my Z51 and it comes out haha. Not the end of the world but I would have really liked to have exactly what the GS is. Still smiling driving my Z51 tho.

I really don't care, I bought what I wanted and I love it. The GS people are going to go ape for the GS, but I really don't see it hurting the value of the C7, unless you decide to trade in your C7...then it is worthless.

I dont track the car so I didnt even buy a Z51, I can care even less about a GS.
No doubt its a good looking car and should be great on track but it wont make me dislike the car I have.
Now if I was buying a C7 for track use and just took delivery of a Z51 as the GS was announced I would probably be a bit disappointed.

now you know how buyers of a base 2013 felt.

That aside, I think the C7 Corvette will hold its value in the long term but if you're wanting to unload your current ride in hopes of upgrading then good luck with a private party sale because the dealer will just destroy you on trade.

I'd have ordered the Grand Sport if it was available when I placed my order in late February. On top of that I have a strong preference for the new Admiral Blue over Laguna Blue that my car is. Such is life. I'll enjoy what I have until it makes sense to change.

Look, the GS is great but to not without fault. The NON MR Z51 is lauded as one of the best track cars available. Throw the T1 suspension on it with some wheels and tires to destroy a stock GS. The big advantage of the GS is those brakes. Man I'd kill for the 6 pot brembos on my Z51.
I do think that the C7 body stands quite well in narrow body form. More so that the C6. The C6 GS transformed that car but the narrow C7 is one nice car. Not to mention that the GS tires are $1000 more per set and unless you track it, you'll never actually realize the benefit. Besides, with a Z06 grille in a base or Z51, how much is it really giving up looks wise? Not enough for me to trade on looks alone. I'll study the GS and if it makes sense to upgrade for track purposes, then I will. I'm not in much of a hurry though. My Z51 feels pretty comfortable on track.

Not like this is the first time that someone buys a car and the next year something with more features or better design or more HP shows up. It's how car manufacturers keep up the interest in their products from year to year. Be happy you have a great car like the '16 C7.
