Uh...how do you detail this?!
Ok guys, lowly C5 owner here. I was at the dealership the other day looking at C7s because I hate myself and hoped to be filled with envy (mission accomplished, btw). I'm pretty **** about my wheel wells and the part of the quarter panels leading into them. So naturally I noticed that the C7 wheel wells are lined with... carpet? Some sort of cloth like material. How's it been trying to keep that clean? Seems like it would be a nightmare but maybe the dirt just rinses off? What's your experience been like and do you hate it or like it? I'm curious. I might just have to buy one so I can find out. HAHAHAH!
(P.S. Sorry if this has been asked before, I don't cruise the C7 area much.)

It always looks new, you can use an air gun and just blow everything off, but mine never sees rain so they look new. I'm glad GM is taking some ideas from the high end cars on the road!!

I just blow mine out and/or water it down...no problems. I'm sure you can even take a soft brush to it to bring it back.

My high end Silverado has it in the front and I just use the wash mitt on it when I'm washing the rest of the truck. Rinses off fine.

Really!? That's neat. Honestly I'm shocked that it's that easy... only in a way though. I knew GM wouldn't do something that didn't make sense, it just didn't make sense to me, haha.
Yep, I'll keep saving my pennies. I'll get there someday

As for thee liners, I use water and a soft bottle brush with a long flexible
wand handle.

Both my 2011 Mini Cooper and my 2013 Audi Q5 use this same material for the wheel well liners so GM must have taken a clue from Euro designers for this feature. In the 100k+ miles on those two vehicles, the wheel well liners have always stayed very clean-looking and rinse clean easily with a shot from the hose nozzle if any debris sticks to them.
No need to denigrate the C5 - I kept mine when I bought my C7 because it's still an awesome car. Its genes are apparent in my C7.

I don't think they are very effective at all in reducing noise... i'm gonna bac k the fender liners with the 80 mill Noico sound proofing.
To be honest, i think i would prefer the plain plastic like in the C5/C6 as in can better detail that for car shows.

My C5Z was my longest owned car (8.5 years), and my biggest car regret is that I didn't keep it. C5's are the sweet spot in corvette ownership and I can't wait to get another one!

Mercedes has been using similar material for at least 10 yrs that I know of.

Not just in high-in cars... I had a newer Ram with the same material installed in parts of the wheel wells and undercarriage. I didn't like it at first, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it held up in all types of weather, road conditions, and terrain.
