Is is just me or does it seem like GM is making too many Corvettes now. All these rebates to move inventory just cheapens the car IMO. They never did rebates for probably almost the entire C5 run. Crazy.

I am guessing GM's initial price increases where a fishing exercise to see just what consumers are willing to pay for an awesome new Vette. Now that sales are leveling off the discounts are needed to price the Vette at a more appropriate level.
Just my opinion, but the car has not been cheapened, just price corrected.

Maybe so. Personally I think the cars are just over priced to start with (flame suit on). I'm not bashing the car, but 8 years ago a my well optioned 3LT with Z51 was mid 50's. Now, a very similar 2LT config is 15k more! I understand, 8 years is a long time... but 15k? 27%? The inflation rate over that period was 11%. None of my other long term consumer goods have risen that much and neither has my pay check. I can't be the only one. Now if you look at the discounts being offered they bring the price back to were they would be if only inflation had affected the price.

I'm personally hoping the incentives improve over the next few months

I don't know how many 2015 c7s where at the dealers last June but it looks like there are a large number this year and with the GS coming out I would think that they would have do something to move those units.

No, 1 OR 2 OR 3.
But the good news is this is GM money, not dealer money. So you can negotiate your best price with the dealer and then get this money too. Unfortunately, to truly get this discount AND dealer discount, you should probably not let the dealer know you have a Corvette currently. Negotiate your price without divulging your current Vette ownership and then ask for the 2K when you inform them of your current Vette AFTER you get their best price. This will make sure the dealership does not try and include the GM money in their discount and also, if you are trading the Vette, you will get the honest trade value instead of the ol' dealer shell game.
My local dealer advertised 10,200 off a nice Vette. This price was posted on their website BEFORE the 2K loyalty incentive was announced. After the incentive was announced i stopped by to look at the car. Sales manager at first was shocked to find out how much the web price was. After I mentioned the loyalty money he claimed it was figured into the web price. Same guy also told me his dealership only sold less Corvettes than Kerbeck. I just smiled and left. Can't buy from people like that.

Price out a well equipped truck these days and you will have some sticker shock. It's easy to reach $60 plus for a half ton truck. Just insane.

I tend to agree! I don't think the Corvette has cheapened at all since the product is better than previous generations. Most* cars are overpriced now IMO, $40,000+ for a Ford Focus, Subaru STI, Golf R and you can build a Camaro for $50,000+ in 2016. Automobiles are just too darn expensive these days.
I'm personally hoping the incentives improve over the next few months
