I'm going to order a Watkins Glen Gray Metallic C7.
What does "13% Less Than 4 Weeks*" mean?

It means that for the production week beginning 7-18-16 (orders that are being picked up this week), nationwide availability will be limited to 13% of orders and that the constraint is expected to last for less than 4 weeks.

It also means that in order for your dealer to order a car in Watkins Glen Gray, they must have an allocation that allows that color to be ordered.

I would like to do Museum Delivery on Sept. 12. I was planning to order 2 months early. So, how much earlier should I order?

That depends on your dealer (how many allocations do they have) and is anything you are ordering on constraint? Smaller dealers may not get an allocation that allows a constrained item. Larger dealers get so many allocations that they will get at least some allocations with the constrained items. Then, it depends on where you are on their list of customers - are there a bunch in front of you? Of course, with a 0% constraint NOBODY can order it for you and have GM accept it.

Remember that NCM deliveries are generally not scheduled until 2 weeks after the car is built.

Well, my dealer is #12 BOARDWALK CHEVROLET, REDWOOD CITY, CA, (186/year). I think they have plenty of allocations. I wanted to get some info before contacting them.

Ok, so if placed an order this week for a Watkins Glen and my order is at 3000, does that mean my order will not be held up.

Once you're past 1100, constraints do not impact you.

If you order in mid-July AND if your order is picked up promptly (i.e. your dealer has allocation and your order isn't affected by constraints), your car will be built mid to late August. That makes the timing just about perfect for a September 12th museum delivery. BTW, the museum is VERY cooperative in safely storing your car until delivery in the event of them receiving it early.

Anyone know why the 7 speed Manual w/Z51 is on constraint?

How long would the museum store a car? Is there a maximum time period?

I took delivery of mine 3 1/2 weeks after it was built. They were very accommodating, you'd have to ask them. Obviously they can't hold them for too long, they gave me a delivery window two weeks out after it was built and I had to push it back a week and a half - not a problem.

I agree with Rooster. To the best of my knowledge, the museum doesn't have a rigid policy; instead they do their best to accommodate on a case by case basis.

There is some speculation, but outside of GM and their suppliers, no one knows for sure

Pure speculation on my part, but I believe it has to do with some major change in the car that is delaying it's release.

From what I have heard, the Z (widebody and other) parts are needed for initial GS surge production. This is the main reason.

There is speculation on potential Z performance upgrades. IF there is anything, it could be related to cooling. HP bump unlikely. Cosmetic also unlikely but who knows.

This is all speculation. Mine is based on a few conversations at the Bash and reading waaaayyy to many threads on the topic. But its fun to contemplate.

I am confused. Is the Watkins Glen Grey on restraints. If so, I am at 3000 so does that mean mine is not affected or does it mean i have to wait for 4 weeks. I have a TPW of 7/18/16.

Watkins Glen Gray is not on constraint. Even if it was, an order that is at event code 3000 would not be affected.
