Default Brake Caliper Colors - WTH

Can someone please tell me why I find a beautiful Long Beach Red Metallic only to find it has yellow brake calipers. Is GM color blind? Please tell me the appeal. Oh wait, is it so you are forced to pay extra to change the color? I mean seriously. Saw a beautiful Laguana Blue Z06 in a local parking lot and guess what, YELLOW BRAKE CALIPERS. How about black being the standard with the option to change colors. Black goes with anything. Feel angry right now, why?

Default Pay attention!

Yellow is an OPTION.

Those color calipers are options - apparently the dealer stipulated yellow when ordering a car for dealer stock. I think it is a hideous combination as well, but a lot of younger vette drivers like yellow calipers.

Yea....

The standard colors are dark grey or black... Yellow and red are extra cost options.

Chalk that win up to the dealer who chose that combo to order, not GM.

I believe that the base car gets grey, the Z51 gets black and the Z06 gets red calipers. I am not sure if the GS gets a specific color caliper, other than black.
I like the yellow caliper, you know...to each their own...Seems as though a lot of Ferrari owners do, also.
I also like Corvette ED's car, blue and red really pops.

A lot of people like those color combos me included, the dealer realizes that these color combos sell.

I'm still considering having my red calipers painted LBR to match the car. (that should have been an option for the $500 I paid for the really isn't quite right red...

If you pay a bit more for the Spice Red package, they come painted LBR.

I bought my 15 used and it had yellow calipers, which I was not thrilled with at first, but it has grown on me and I kind of like them now. It does make the car stand out.

Red and Yellow paint is much more expensive than Grey and Black paint so GM charges you $500 more.

I just do not like yellow calipers on red cars.

Unless your going for that McDonalds look......

I saw a brand new 488 GTB the other day and what ruined it for me were the bright yellow calipers on the bright red car.

Personally I don't like Yellow/Gold calipers on any color.. including yellow, but some may. Beautiful thing is that these are not standard, so its up to the dealer/buyer to order the car the way they want. That chrome strip in the front.. should be optional too. BLACK should be the standard, IMO

I like the gunmetal gray color the best. Blends with the rotor assembly.
