Default MPG (non-Z06), what are you getting?

Just purchased a 2016 Z51 A8... I am only getting about 14 MPG, mixed city / highway, mostly in Sport Mode. I'm a spirited driver but I don't push it that hard.

Currently have just over 1,000 miles on the car. Thinking maybe MPG will improve after 2,000 miles?

Interested in knowing what MPG others are getting!
Thanks!

(Yes, I searched the forums, most results were for ZO6... and with better MPG numbers.)

There were some post earlier about gas mileage (non Z-06, Z-51) and the numbers were in the low 30's if I remember correctly.

Low 30s highway. High teens to low 20s in town. 25.3 overall for 5600 miles.

I have Z51 M7 as well. I have a little over 10k miles. I have been getting about 14mpg in my daily congested freeway commute in sport mode. However when I travel long distance and put it in eco mode, I get about 27 to 30+ mpg.

I don't know nor care, when I need gas I put it in, couldn't even tell you how much I pay for a gallon. Mpg on a sports car shouldn't even matter, if the car puts a smile on your face while driving, that's all that matters!

Highway MPG in E mode at 75 to 85 MPH on level highway car reads 32.7 MPG. In town in track mode just driving the speed limit car gets almost 22 MPG.

When I got the car with just over 6,k miles on it from west palm beach to Nashville tenn, I was in E mode car got 32.7 MPG and I was doing 75 to 85 all the way.

I even filled up in fla wrote the miles down on the car filled it back up when I got home off the interstate car avg 32.4 plus this was coming over the mountain in Chatt,tn going 75 to 80 over the Mountain in track mode.

Car in the shop now over a bad transmission in her. But is under war still.

Never figured mileage on any car ive owned seemed pointless it uses what it does.

poor mileage means youre having fun and getting your moneys worth out of it

2016, Z51, M7 never take it out of sport on street. Best I've seen at fill up was 25. Mostly hangs in around 21-22 ave city and highway. I will never put it in eco mode! Just seems wrong somehow, knowing I've got four dead holes spinning away!

Just went for a mostly highway run. Targa top off. Windows up. Touring mode. Drove very mildly. Used cruise control. Averaged 23.3 MPG.

Lifetime of 1,400 miles is 15 MPG.
Guess I drive harder than I think most times. LOL
Also, I am located in Florida so the car often idles for Air Conditioning while waiting for a girlfriend, etc.

Thanks all for the feedback!

You sound just like me. I couldn't have cared less what the gas mileage was going to be when I bought it. But, I did consider it a nice bonus that it is good on gas. I went to Spirit Mountain and back. Drove the **** out it and when I checked it when I got back it was 30.1 for 2600 miles. Overall since I have had the car, and it has 11.5K on it, I have gotten 24.6.
My wife has pretty much taken over this car now and she told me I can buy my own. I am going to get a Z06 in late summer or fall and don't have any idea what it will get mileage wise and I'm not even going to research it. I am going to get a manual shift this time so we have one of each. I like either equally. Just depends on my mood.

I had to go look. (good idea Lisa)

If it helps, 60 to 70% of those miles have been just around town.

Like others here, I don't check milage. Long ago I used to check my cars gas milage as one way to make sure of the cars performance. Remember? Hey, I'm not getting good mileage, better change the plugs, points and condenser, check the timing. Ahh, the good ole days.

But nowadays with all the computers and sensors it's pointless.

@ 10,000.0 miles my trip computer said 20.0 mpg since day one.

Glad to see others with similar numbers as I was wondering if there was a problem with my car after all the hyper-miler reports I see on here.

Very similar to yours- got 15 mpg the first 1000 miles.
After 6000 miles- lifetime average is 15.8 mpg

The people getting 28 mpg+ must not do a lot of start/stop city driving.
