Default LED Side Marker Conversion

Anyone who has made this conversion...can you comment on which products you chose and how the lights look. Any pics would be nice.
Best Regards!

There are many threads on this forum. Search for "Oracle".

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ghlight=oracle

I think they looks the best, but they are the most expensive and do have some fitment issues. Still, they looks the best once mounted IMHO. I elected to get the painted to color match the body and ghosted. Again, not cheap, but I got them from Oracle themselves and they turned them around in one day and the perfectly color matched unlike other forum vendors.

A lot of forum members rewired the lights so that they come on with ignition.

I'd go with VetteFX's set (they come tinted too if you like them that way). They are the OEM ones with the single bulb inside replaced with a string of LEDs.

Given they are the same size as the OEM parts, there are no fitment issues to worry about and they keep their fully reflective nature in the absence of the bulbs inside glowing as well.

Sean from VetteFX also sells rear marker versions - as in replacements for the rear bumper / lower valance markers (no bulb inside) with LEDs instead.

Oracle = $409 for front. Stock lighting will remain on my car with that price.

Oracle, $220 shipped... off ebay...I tinted them black myself...they look great lit up or off....easy mod. Use the rustoleum tint product for best high gloss finish as applied..no need to sand/polish afterwards.

Actually Oracle is one of the cheapest, shop around, all other options are 2x or more. They don't fit perfectly, especially the driver's side rear. If you car is dark, it can't be seen until you are within 2 feet or so.

Please post pics when installed. Also let us know if the fitment has improved as Oracle indicated that they have an improved set to help fit the rear lights fit better. Before you needed to sand down the clips.

I think all they did was sand the clips for people. Before, the primary issue was the clip in the rear was too long and didn't bite in the center which would cause the marker to pop back out. That part is fixed....but...The OEM markers sit flush with the body. The Oracle markers are slightly thicker and the shape is slightly off which causes the maker to have some small gaps.

What modifications do you need for the side markers to come on with the ignition?

If not (that is if you plug them in straight to the regular side marker wiring) when exactly do they turn on / stay on and when are they off?

Apologies for the silly question.

Without any wiring modifications they come on with your parking or driving lights.

Parts needed and instructions start at post 34 in THIS THREAD.

I just noticed that CorvetteMods.com put my pics of my car on their site

Thank you, nice pictures and instructions. So without that modification, assuming I leave the lights on Auto mode, they'll be turned on basically when it gets dark.
