Color choice for Vette repaint
I'm rebuilding a salvage wide body Vette and trying to decide on a method and color.
I had thought of a 3m wrap just for the ease but they look too dull. Maybe there's a better brand/type. It would only last a couple years and Repaint later.
If I paint I was leaning towards atomic orange or a orange candy like the Stryker orange from viper. Also thought a Root beer darker brown or a copper I considered but there's already DSOM orange.
I have a carbon exposed hood but it likely wouldn't look good exposed on anything but like a dark metallic color like the centennial Z06 or a dark charcoal.
I also have the Z06 silver painted wheels.
Thoughts ?

Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic from the 2005-06 run. It's darker, richer and more burnt/coppery than either Atomic or DSunriseOM. Beautiful color. I got comments from strangers on my 06 for the color for the whole 9 years I owned it.

I'd love to see that mclaren in person. I'm guessing it's a tri coat ona silver base.
That gold would be unique, might work with the carbon too. Didn't think I'd like it but that 33 pops.

Either paint it original or go with a nice custom paint that's not too flashy or blingy...just my 2 cents. Otherwise, it will take you forever to sell the car someday when you want to upgrade to a newer one.
Customizing is always fun...if you have the money because once you start, you never stop and before you know it, you can have upwards of 10, 20, or even $30,000 dollars or more into your car and odds are you will never get any of it back or maybe 10-20% if you're lucky AND probably have a difficult time selling it too!
I know, I've done it TWICE, once on a 2005 vert. and once on a 2008 vert. Callaway. At the time, the Callaway pkg alone cost me $34,000 over sticker price. That included the $8000 Callaway brake system and $3500 Callaway wheels, Between those 2 cars, I probably lost about the cost of new base Corvette.
Remember, ultimately its your choice...

"In honor of jpee"
Altho I like orange, in general, and this orange above, in particular, I've recently seen another color. The color is called Kodiak Brown metallic and it's on a Lincoln. Very dark, almost black most of the time. Some call it 'root beer' but it could be lightened to bring out the rich brown metallic in more lights than bright, direct sunlight.

A great color. Pay homage to an earlier Vette while still eye-catching in its own right.
