Will you love her forever?

I used to say that I would keep my cars forever but I seem to be addicted to new car smell! My oldest car right now is my 2012 Camaro which is for sale. It is unlikely I will keep my 2015 but also likely that I will inherit my parent's 2015 at some point and then would not get rid of that one. THEY said this was their last Vette...we'll see...

Well, I'm sure that there are a lot of guys, and gals, maybe even you, on here that have a much greater net worth than I, so paying cash wasn't a boast, but an indication of the level of commitment I had to a car that I never planned to sell - no short term lease with a definite end point. She was going to be mine.
And if your Stingray is just a car to you, well, then you'll never understand what I'm talking about...

Maybe or maybe not !!! I mostly enjoyed the long road trips I 've made !!! 1st when I picked up my car from the KC area and then drove it home to the Seattle area via the southern route due to cold March weather in March 2014 ---3200 miles !!! Then 2nd trip from Seattle to Wichita and back via different routes in October 2015 for my 50th high school reunion----4200 miles . Both trips have been to places I've never visited and it was such a treat seeing different parts of the USA especially Yellowstone Park !!! Wayne

I felt the same as my CG 2014 was delivered Oct 12, 2013.
Then I got this strange feeling when I heard about a Grand Sport. Long story short. Sold CG and WGG LOADED Grand Sport is scheduled for production 8-9 Aug with my name on it
1st day I got my 2014!
Now it's gone.

I'll always have a Vette, but I can't guarantee it will be this one (my 3rd), even though each time I buy a new one my thoughts are "I will keep this one forever", which usually happens as I'm signing the check hahahaha

I loved my CG 14 also. Fully loaded Z51 with everything. I was actual one of the first 2014's to have the comp seats.....
Sadly she got hit......R.I.P.
So I went an opposite way and ordered my 2015:

I'm kinda in the middle between the two extremes of "forever" and trading every year or two.
I absolutely adored my 2006 C6 velocity yellow vert. She looked and ran like a dream. Eight years and 70,000 miles later, I had absolutely no intention of parting with her. Sure, I was tempted by the GS and the 427, but not enough to part with my beloved 2006. But guess what? Along came the C7. A whole new generation. As big an improvement over the C6 as the C6 was over the C5. I had to jump.
When the car carrier came for my C6, I took a hundred pictures and begged her new owner to take good care of her, which he promised he would. My wife and I waved good-bye as the truck drove off.
I was Vetteless for a month before my 2014 C7 arrived, but now I am in love again. My C6 buyer still sends me a picture once a year, assuring me she still drives perfectly.
Will I love my C7 forever? Impossible to say. I have no yearning for a GS or Z06. Nobody knows whether the C8 will be a game-changer like the C6 and C7. Or a dud like the C4. Maybe I will love my C7 forever.

I will love her forever, however, how long I keep her is up for debate.

My Wife and I have a C5, so I just lurk here. Its her daily driver which amounts about 1500 mi/yr. She had vette model cars in her dorm room at college 40 yr ago, thats how nuts she is about the car. She is 62 and I'm 67 and we have been discussing for a year about ordering C7, she really wants museum delivery and buyer's tour, wants to "birth" the car at the end of the line. (She also wants manual shift, says no vette should ever be an auto)
The problem is she can't come to grips with giving up her baby (the C5), but goes gaga every time she sees a C7. So. . . .we probably will order a '17 and at our age and the miles we drive, more than likely that will be the last one we have. Keeping the C5 is not an option, but I know she will be bawling when the C5 leaves us.

I'm a sentimental type of guy... That, coupled with the fact I worked for 15 years to get my Corvette and it's my first, I'll probably hold on to mine. Other cars will come, but that one will always have a spot in my garage.

I was fortunate enough to be able to be in a position to pay cash for a brand new C7 Z51 3LT Cyber Gray Metallic Stingray when they first started rolling off the line in BG back in 2013...She is mine.
I am 64 and have never had a car that I loved more!
I will never trade her or sell her for the latest model...
Does anyone else feel that way about their Stingray?

But(at age 66), ten and a half years later, I traded it in for a new 2009 Z06.
Now(at age 74), after eight years with the C6 Z06, I have no desire to get rid of it.
I will die with my 1956 and my 1964 Corvettes.

I really like the car, and it gives me a thrill to drive it, but in the end it's just a car. I'll probably drive it for 2-3 years, sell it, and buy something else.
Until then, it's putting a smile on my face!
