The most embarrassing thing to do is to crash. That's not a big deal, it happens.

Yeah, reverse in Spanish closely translates to first.

What kind of hand signals were those supposed to be? Very confusing. Good thing he didn't go all out in reverse and had quick reactions.

I've seen other guys do that. Luckily I wasn't one of them.

Ever do that at a stoplight? Pull out too far, then back up a little and forget to shift? Sinking feeling . . .

Considering he floored it in reverse it's surprising the outcome wasn't worse.

A local Corvette club held a Corvettes only event at a local 1/8 mile dragstrip. A guy in a C7 (automatic) pulled up to the line and went through the lights so he put it in reverse and backed up just enough so that he was properly staged, forgot to put it in Drive, and when the light turned green he was really embarrassed.

Another guy in a 2 week old 2016 Z06 lined up next to a C5. The C5 had a poor start and the Z06 had about a car length lead when the rear end lost traction and he crossed over into the other lane. Luckily he was far enough ahead that there was no contact and the C5 was able to avoid hitting him. The Z06 driver decided not to run again.
