L8tr, good luck... That thing is beautiful.

My dealership has a new loaded SS down to 40 grand. I need a sedan too.

Funny how my wife will upgrade our hotel on trips, and I'll freak because I'm spending another unplanned $100! But, chit, I've almost spent an unplanned 40 grand and thought nothing of it.

I am a shallow speed junkie haha.
I'm conflicted in this regard. Love my 2016 Stingray, but very tempted to trade up to a Z06 next year.

What stopped me this year and what might stop me next year is that where I live and how I like to use my Vette precludes me from owning a Z.

There are no all-season tire options (that I'm aware of) for the Z (same problem I had with previous C6 GS) and I like to drive my car year round sans snow (I live in Maryland).

The very thing that tempts me is the very thing that keeps me away. 650hp is a lot for a street car, but then so is 455hp. Good problem to have

I can see why

Personally, the black wheels are a turnoff.

If this little piece of advice will help you assuage your temptation, then so much the better......

Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now.

Other than having to come up with a truckload of money to pay the difference between my car and a new Z06, it wouldn't take much else to make me want one in my garage.

Off topic, I just heard my first GT350 in the wild. I'm still hard! I will be avoiding ALL Ford dealerships in the foreseeable future.
I know exactly what you mean, but I bought my 350 Track Pack sight unseen, sound unheard back in April, and OMG. This car sounds and drives absolutely brilliantly.

Those who chase the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow there is no ultimate Corvette. General Motors will keep you on the hook as long as he can.
All this talk about ZO6 will vaporize as soon as the mid engine appears. I find if you do the research , take your time, and pick out your ideal Corvette you can be happy forever. I bought my 2014 Z51 coupe after nearly going blind reading everything I could. Then comes 2015 and eight speed automatics. Heck I was super happy driving my 2002 C5 with a four speed auto why should I care about two more gears. As Crosby, Stills and Nash sang
"Love the one your with"

After second thought on my purchase I wish I had got the Z06 LT2. When I made my decision it was based on what I thought I would enjoy and want. But after putting over 13K on mine and loving the power, handling, Launch control, etc. I think I should have bought the Z. Price was no object when I bought it last Nov. I didn't care about insurance costs, maintenance, gas mileage and items like that. I may buy one this late summer or fall and get a manual shift this time. That way we'll have one with A8 and with the manual. I am thinking White, white and not sure about the interior yet and body colored vents. I like the body colored vents on the Long beach red though. But I have got to have white wheels. These wheels are not obviously on a Z06, but these will be mine.

To be content with what's right in front of you is a great feeling. So many people would give a lot just to own one of these cars.

Every year something new will come out, but at the end of the day, we all still own a car many people can only dream of.

I agree with the OP 100%
