What have you discovered about your C7 that surprised you?
I have had my 2016 Z06 M7 for a couple of weeks, there a couple of things that I wasn't expecting that surprised me. I'm sure they are all documented somewhere, I just wasn't expecting them.
1) Hill assist: My driveway has a bit of an angle to it. I normally pull into the driveway and wait for the garage door to open. After driving the car for about 3 days, it occurred to be that it didn't roll backwards in the driveway like my C5 did when pulling into the garage after being stopped.
2) Memory seat function: I use the easy exit function and have the seat move quite a ways back to ease my exit of the car without dragging my shoes on the door panels. The draw back is I can't reach the clutch pedal to start the car and automatically get the seat into driving postiton. The C7 is rather annoying that I have to hold the memory seat function button until the seat gets close enough for me to start the car. Whereas my C5 is a simple touch.
Today I discovered in the C7 if I just touch the start button without depressing the clutch pedal, the seat moves into my programmed driving position. I can then depress the clutch pedal and start the car.

My biggest surprise was liking my 2015 Z51 coupe so much that I have absolutely no desire to replace it with a Grand Sport. I can't begin to describe how good I feel inside every time I drive this car.

All the stuff you mentioned is located in the owners manual. I am having trouble with the auto recall settings though. i have it on in the car but the seat doesn't move so i have to start the car and then with the E-Brake on push my number 1 setting and it will move into position. Sometimes it wont and the wheel will just move a millimeter. If this happens i move the seat manually for a half a second then it works again.

My first seat position is set half way from fully back so I can fasten the seatbelt while the seat is moving forward, then I run it forward manually to a driving position which is dependent on which shoes I'm wearing and if I have a jacket on. what I discovered by accident is you cannot start the car when the seat is moving, even with the clutch in. Once the seat stops you can start it up. I think it's some sort of safety feature.

It's not really that fast.

It should be no surprise, because it says so right there in the owners manual and in all the ads, and I've seen it a hundred times with my own eyes. Even so, I'm still surprised, astonished, and amazed every time I push the button and operate the vert top with the car in f***ing motion. F***ing amazing. How did Chevy engineers do it? I have no clue. All I know is I f***ing love it.

Have cruise control on and you can shift gears if you're fast enough and cruise control will just resume.
When starting the car the memory recall will work... IFF when you turned the car off you properly engaged the eBrake. If you didn't then it doesn't work! :-(
Little bubble that you can squeeze just above the license plate that will open the hatch if the fob is closeby.
If you're on an incline, hill assist can help. If you're at a light on an incline for a long period of time engage the eBrake, put her in neutral and rest your feet. Don't forget to tap the break at least once or the auto disengage of the braking system sometimes doesn't work.

Not much. I actually read through the Owner's Manual when I got it.

I guess the biggest surprise is, reading about ALL the things wrong with the C7 and NOT experiencing any of them myself. Will be a year next month and STILL LOVING IT! No complaints here!

What surprised me the most though was instead of lots of cute girls asking me about the Corvette, it's mostly all dudes...like a ratio of 10:1.
Not that I bought the car for that, being happily married and all.

I don't know if this makes any sense, but it surprised me how it doesn't accelerate as "easily" as my BMW 435i. Yes, the C7 has more raw power and ultimate speed, but the BMW seems to accelerate much faster with less effort on the accelerator pedal.

I think its the throttle response that's causing this feeling. As you say the C7 has the power and speed. The throttle response is a little slow to make the car more street friendly. Some drivers are adding aftermarket throttle controllers. Imagine what these car would do with an actual foot controlled throttle.
