I really don't understand all the negative comments on the Grand Sport or any of the Corvettes posted on this forum, but to each his own. I just wanted to share a special event that most people would not experience, except for a public GM event or an event like Carlisle. To be one on one with one of Corvette's chief designers made for an extremely enjoyable evening for an intimate crowd of Corvette enthusiasts fro WNY. It was a private event and by invitation only to friends or friends of friends. Kirk comes back to the area during the same time every year because he has family in our area. It is always a special treat to be able to see him and to talk Corvettes on a personal level. Kirk usually brings a unique Vette with him and this time it was the 2017 Grand Sport. We have all seen pictures but this was the real thing. If you don't like the car or the venue, that's fine because you weren't invited to this little party and you probably never will be in the future, so vent and I hope you enjoy your own little world of negativity!

It's all the haters that bought a base car and swore up and down and would bet a million dollars that a better looking GS was not going to happen.

OK, I have my Z51 and I love it. Would love to have a Z06 but it was too expensive for me. As I always say "I can get enough speeding tickets with 465 HP". Anyways, I don't know much about the GS. Can somebody summarize what does a GS have that say a base model doesn't. How about a GS vs. Z51. And finally a GS vs Z06.
Apologies if this has already been covered.

I like the GS (ordered one in yellow lol) but I'd like it better if the seats were red to match the hash marks. That would provide even more contrast
Haters gonna hate.

No negative waves
Amazing what some people take home with them. One time Dave McLellan brought along a silver 1978 Corvette coupe to show us Corvette guys. This happened in 1975!

I think it awesome that Kirk shared this time and the new Grand Sport with you guys. I talk to him every year at Carlisle....he's genuine, personable, professional and just a wonderful man to talk with. I always thank him for his outstanding work that he does for us on the Corvette...I really appreciate him making himself available to the Corvette community! He lives and breathes Corvette.....the kind of person working on Corvettes for GM and Chevy that should be! Awesome Kirk....I wish I could have been there.

Some folks just can't resist expressing an opinion even if it's not the forum for it. Like the world can't wait to hear their opinion. I choose to ignore them.

I will probably never be invited to this party but I think the car looks great and it's pretty cool that you brought it by for a few to get a up close look.

EXACTLY!!!!! so why all the hoopla?!
We wanted something more cool like the last generation Z28 was to the Camaro. Maybe a de-stroked high revving LT1 with over 500 h.p. to compete with the Ford Voodoo engine. Maybe 3.73 or 3.90 axle ratio, and maybe only available with the 7 speed manual.
Hopefully the GS won't have issues on the track since it is more of a "track" oriented car compared to the base.
Let's see if it can best the Z51 at the track since it has the Z06's AERO without the Z06's power to back it up.
Hopefully MT or another reviewer that also reviewed both the Z51 and Z06 will review this one.

Oh come on...don't be so touchy. The car does look out of place there though in that dilapidated building.
I was kind of waiting for this guy to come into the picture.
or maybe him

Whenever you post a pic of anything here, you have to be ready for ALL comments. Some like it, some don't. Don't get your feelings hurt.

Just because you don't like the feedback don't call us all negativity. I love the C7 platform. The base and Z51 are awesome cars. The GS and Z06 could have been so much more...
