Default 2017 Grand Sport roof liner different?

Just noticed the roof liner on the upcoming GS. Is the diamond pattern an option on the C7?

I believe that is part of the upper interior trim package now.

IWE: Sueded Microfiber-Wrapped Upper Interior Trim
Package, includes headliner, visors, trim above
windshield and rear window, A-pillar trim and area
around quarter window

It's what you get with the 3LT package. Is not available with 1LT or 2LT. Standard on the 3LT.

Must be something new as mine is microfiber, but not a pattern.

This.

And the the reason it isn't on the 2016s is because the quilted-pattern is a new addition to the 2017s (I don't think it's GS specific, more so a 2017 thing).

Correct...comes with all 3LT packaged Corvettes.

I was at my dealer yesterday and sat in a 3LT Grand Sport with yellow stitching. All of the interior stitching was yellow, with the exception of the new headliner, which had the usual white stitching. Anyone know if the red/yellow stitching options are supposed to apply to the new headliner? I am considering changing my 2LZ order to a 3LZ and I'm trying to figure out exactly what to expect.

No, I believe the stitching color option won't apply to the headliner. Would be happy to be proven wrong.

That's annoying - If you pay for the option, it seems like it would apply to everything visible in the cockpit. You shouldn't have to have all the red factory stitching and then do the $2.49 marker mod on the headliner. Actually, since it's the suede material, it seems like the marker mod wouldn't be possible, as it seems like you couldn't wipe off the dye outside the threads.

Has anyone tried the marker mod on sueded parts like the steering wheel or the shifter ****?

Yeah it is annoying. Have 3LT with yellow stitching on my GS (car is a couple days from delivery) and I'll have the same issue.

I asked what you're asking a few months ago and was told that the marker mod was hard to do with the suede material since it absorbs too well as against the leather.

The quilted headliner on red stitched interiors comes with red stitching. Color keyed stitching is included on the kalahari and gray quilted headliners. Yellow stitching on the quilted headliner is not available at this time, sadly.

Damn, so there you go Gretz.

I'm the only one that misses out with my yellow stitching.

Hmm, I wonder if there's any way to get yellow just on the stitches without having the suede soak it up.

You're not the only one...I'm with you! So, I'm going to use my extremely fine point fabric dye marker, will take my time, and will make my own yellow stitching.

Ah my fellow-yellow-fan! You have a particular fine marker (and color) you bought (a link maybe if you bought it online)? Seems like that will be added to the list of things I have to do to my GS.

Is there anything that cleans off the dye (if I really do mess up) from the microfiber and not the stitching?

The stitching on the sueded wheel and shifter is black, so the mod won't work on that.

I like this one best...very fine point tip. Get "yellow" and not "florescent yellow."

Thanks. I see it comes with a 'brush' tip and a 'fine' tip. Is the fine tip the one you're talking about or is there an even smaller 'very fine' tip version of these.

Also, do you know of any way to clean off the fabric dye from the suede if I get any on it?
